Furloughs?

If we wanted to, we could go on. Yes. It gets really nasty, surprisingly to some, and maybe unbelievable to others. But to those who know of what we speak, it is disgusting. It is her method of control. Try to discredit or put fear into those that she fears. What she fears is the truth, and that the truth will come out. She can’t fear losing her job after all of this.

 

I can co-sign all that. She freaked out when COVID closures led to a large decline in the workload and there was, of course, a loss of revenue. What is the first thing she does to creat a distraction? Narc on the colored girl. “She is texting at her seat.” Hear this: Everyone was texting!! When she saw that this African American cytotech had not completed the Learn courses and Master Control, she had her take the yearly LCA competency test on a Tuesday and told her she had to have every single Learn course and every master control course no matter if or when they were due. They had to be finished by the following Friday...3 days. Recall that b/c techs had been doing full loads with a backlog for at least a year, there was no time to do computer assignments, and there was quite a bit of catching up to do. She completed all of them, passing with flying colors. These are some fkn sick puppies in charge of that lab. It’s amazing to see them try to act professional when they know that they are being watched.

 

This thread feels like one disgruntled cytotech posting bizarre crap that no one is reading.

 

Speak for yourself, because I find this fascinating. Like they say, truth is stranger than fiction. Who wouldn’t be disgruntled under these circumstances? Ignored or dismissed info from employees are how whistleblowers are made.

 

And most importantly, why unions are formed if this behavior was directed to any other people than the African American. Shame on you.

It’s not that we are ungrateful to have jobs. We are. But you are right.Cytology is on life support, b/c of advances in technology and immunology. It makes sense to move on. Some, like myself, have started to make preparations to transition out of cytology. Hospital jobs may survive, but Pap mills like this are doomed. Even so, the unpredictability of this Covid crisis has put plans into limbo. Especially, when you have a family.

 

If it is so miserable then leave. Posting accusations on some obscure website no one reads aint doing nothing.

 

Completely agree, at some point Hologic will truly create a pap machine that no techs are needed.

You should have been retraining when hpv vaccine came out and hpv testing got approved for screening. Your days of complaining are almost over....till u get another career.

B/c no one should have to put up with this bull.... in order to make a living. What she has done to this black woman, she would not dare do to a white person. That is probably why they only have one white cytotech (a male), but corporate protects him. All the other white techs who quit under the stress are prosperous and happy working elsewhere. (FYI:You don’t have to be white to support white supremacy.) Perhaps it’s more descriptive to call it Asian supremacy.
When you ignore or do not speak up against this behavior, you support it.

Ask the doctor why she is suing that lab after working there. Or better still, read the court docs.

As stated before, the thing that sends them into the worse panic and retaliation mode is to share information with corporate. They could care less about harassment laws, rules, and regulations.
