TAM INTERVIEWS NEXT WEEK

I have been reading these posts for months and I am just writing my first one. I feel like I have the obligation to prevent more career disaster from happening. I joined Genentech 8 years ago and was happy as a clam up until 2 years ago. When we created this new model, I really wanted to give it a chance. I applied and landed a role in the new ecosystem against some of my high performing coworkers. I regret this decision ever since! This is the worst experience one can imagine. I am miserable everyday. I used to have a great boss and enjoy my job. Now I am stuck with a group of incompetent and corrupt managers who have no people or product skills. How the heck did they get these jobs? it is beyond my comprehension. Bar none this is the worst company in the industry now, Don't even think about applying unless you are desperate and homeless. I don't need to repeat the comments about this one manager in VA. I will tell you that the comments are absolutely true. The reality is actually worst!

 

Couldn’t agree with everyone’s comments. I have been in industry for decades and at Genentech for half of that. This “mindset” is not some novel idea for those of us who DID put customers first, who DID put patients first, who DID partner. I loved my job and customers, and despite hearing that Genentech is arrogant and doesn’t partner like other companies, we found ways to bring value and partner even more than in this nightmare. Now I’m depressed every day, have no job satisfaction, and wish for this failure of an experiment to sink as fast as possible so we can change course. I am still trying my very, very best every day but I have never felt less able to support customers.

 

I am interviewing and praying that I will be able to get out of this misery as quickly as I can. I would take a pay cut to stay away from this horrible environment and these absolutely worthless managers. I miss my old boss and the old Genentech! I really wish I took the package! That's the biggest regret of my life!

 

Ditto. They need to include anti-depressants in their mailings to us. I believe everyone on this thread who is miserable feels this way bc of GENENTECH not how COVID has challenged everyone in so many ways. The times we speak up, leadership gets hyper sensitive and start regurgitating cult like themes that don’t even acknowledge the problem. NO and
AH wetting themselves and sticking their heads in sand when they get REAL questions is an indicator that this won’t get better.

These managers have never been so out of touch with their customers and their TAMs/FRMs. They need us so desperately to spoon feed every contact and then babysit them so they don’t step on toes...and then have to listen to them congratulate each other on what a great
Job “they” are doing. No acknowledgement for all of the backs they stepped on (mostly internal, but also the customers). It’s really too hard to watch. Awful work environment.

 

I think we should start a petition to vote out every one of these horrible manager in this miserable place and start all over.

I joined this company almost 20 years ago. That was the highlight of my career. This place was phenomenal. I learned so much from so many smart people. I NEVER thought that I would be so anxious to leave this place in a hurry! In a few weeks, I will be saying goodbye to this morally bankrupt and talent drained company. Genentech has been taken over by a bunch of sleazy phonies, wannabes, and left wing extremists. I am embarrassed to check my email these days in front of my kids. I feel like I am working for the who's who among the business losers in a 3-ring circus of bottom feeders. All the D&I crap is the worst propaganda I have ever seen in the corporate world. It is not even authentic. This company is totally consumed by these opportunists who shamelessly exploit the blacks and other minorities to get their power. BA, AH, NO, QH and the likes literally make me gag. All the top talent and great leaders are gone. As a left leaning independent, it takes a lot to alienate me and so they did in a big way. RIP Genentech!

 

Everything said here about commercial leadership is true for medical as well -right down to the regional managers.

Field medical has also been destroyed with such horrible leadership. The field leaders who stayed are among the worst in the company. All about themselves and absolutely no self-awareness.I think the only normal one who stayed is on the lucentis team.

Can someone tell QH enough already about her cop bashing. Her recent linkedin post just continues the push the false narratives about the cops. If you fire at a cop first then you deserve what you get. For someone in such a high position, you would think she knows better.

Yes, I saw the LinkedIn QH race baiting, too. Where is HR or the Ombudsman? She doesn't speak for Genentech on this issue. Stop the QH insanity please!

 

Almost 15 years w Genentech and I used to love my job, coworkers, and this company. Now I’m surrounded by incompetent leaders and miserable coworkers. If you join Genentech you’re an idiot. The VA HED EJ is a co_k sucker In every way. No decent TAMs or HD candidates wanted to work for him so he had to hire many TAM and ALL HD roles from external candidates. And he’s already been talking how he’s disappointed in his choices. No clue what those HDs are like since they are brand new to the company. You can see on all the threads everyone is at the lowest points of their careers and now racial inequality issues have created a disturbing culture. I don’t even want to go into that bc then some inbred racist will start responding and posting vile responses. Only join Genentech if you love to be miserable.

 

I worked for 3 other companies. The current Genentech is by far the most miserable place. Not sure why anyone would want to join now. It was a great place until the entire leadership team left and they replaced them with a bunch of snakes and clowns like most people said in CP. They are the most clueless and incompetent phonies I have ever come across in my 25 years. This management downgrade is most ridiculous thing I have ever witnessed in my life.

 

It’s very Sad. I have worked here close to 12 years. It was a fun company when I first started. BUT now, it’s a shell of its former self. It became left wing extremists. It’s time to throw the towel. This place is wasted. I would not recommend working here.

 

Sounds like a bully; part of the cancel culture aka "the mob"; anti free speech.
These types want to stop the rest of us from talking or free thinking. Once they destroy the organization, thru departure of top talent, they will eventually be shown the door; at the end of the day, its about profits, not blm or lbgqrst or any other group; peace

 

Have some self respect! Go elsewhere to find opportunities. This place is beyond repair. Totally taken over by some clueless and angry left wing extremists. The culture is in the toilet now. It will collapse very soon.
