And he was so proud of himself for chasing off good people. I've never seen a bigger bunch of two faced people than at Astellas!

 

Not sure about the best BUT Jim O is the worst Director I have ever seen in my long spanning Pharma and device career ever. How he still has a job I’ll never understand.

 

Welp, with only at most half of the sales force working, “because they don’t feel comfortable”, everyone being paid at full target, and a hyper-focus on non-revenue producing initiatives, don’t you think it won’t be long before a layoff? Maybe due to reduced revenues or even due to flat revenues. Only about half the employees are working, and the other half who are working, are hardly seeing any customers. How can that possibly work long term? They aren’t going to keep paying anyone out of the goodness of their hearts.

 

I've been wondering the same thing. The clock has to be ticking on our lazy reps, managers, directors and veeps with our bosses in Japan. If Perci can't do it, they will find someone who can. Pfizer just let go 300 Internal Medicine reps. What are the odds we will too?

 

if they let go of JO, we gained a lot and lost nothing. I have great stories from Lily too.

 

Oh yeah. His picture would be next to worst Leader ever. I use leader for lack of better term. Maybe just ASD.

• Gets frustrated and discouraged when a things don’t go his way. He is unsuccessful in learning what could have been done better and approaching new opportunities
• Has difficulty building rapport with different personalities. Hires and surrounds himself with likeminded people like himself
• Tends to get involved in behaviors or relationships that distract him from meeting short or long-term objectives (SU)
• Tends to blame others, external factors, and other circumstances when things don’t go his way
• Tends to get really upset when someone criticizes him instead of looking for ways to improve it

 

JO- He is as useless as Knitted condom

 

Agree fully. His direct hires seem to be as ethically and morally bankrupt as him. Now their hires are in question.

I think we can sum up him as

MASSIVE A-HOLE

 

Hate to kick the man when he is down. BUT here is my opionion.My RSM and I had some healthy conversations about him as did many others.

He’s a poor leader and is threatened by change and seldom produces innovative approaches to business conditions.

Because of his controlling nature, he tends to attract compliant subordinates. Just look at his team.

As a poor leader, he tends to view his team talent as those who most resemble him the most and his view of what is needed.

He tends to be deferential upward and demeaning down.

Holds grudges and past negative evaluations.

Pompous and arrogant/self-centered

Labels people and is not open to new insights about them.

 

A lot of this is accurate across the organization. Health systems is even worse on a lot of these.
