Wow! I appreciate the posts with people sharing realistic salaries in our industry and I’m glad the OP and the many many others are sharing what they make.
I’m in specialty at Pfizer and have been with them for about 14 years and make $105,500.

Ive been interviewing off and on for the past 2 years because I thought I was under paid. Let me tell you that many companies don’t pay as much as I thought. GSK had told me they’d offer $115 for a hospital position and it wasn’t worth the move for me and they eventually went up a whole $3k more dollars to $118k. Thank goodness I didn’t take it because that position was in jeopardy about 1.5 year later. I interviewed with Grifols for rare disease, AZ, Sunovian, Allergan GI Soecialty and BI respiratory specialty and none would go more than $120 and it was mostly less. Allergan doesn’t pay squat..they are more like entry level pay even aim their specialty division. They’re Abbie now so I don’t know if their pay has changed.

I also interviewed with J&J. I would have taken that position in the Psych division. They were going to offer $120 and they said that that was a stretch for them but they also offer a pension plan which was really really desirable to me, but they had an internal candidate that was going to be displaced and they moved them in to the position while I was getting ready to go to the final interview. That kind of sucked but I understood how it worked out.

I do like the $135 that Acadia offers and their bonus plan is pretty stout too. Lots of companies have such low plans at target and sometimes part of your commission is based off of how your district performs. But the concern for me is that this is the only drug in their pipeline. I know they will try to get more indications for it in other disease states but the early data doesn’t look good at all for the other disease states. It looks like they bought a pain company and I don’t want to sell in that sucky market. So I’d hate to take a job and know that I’ll need to find another job within 5 years. Although our PC division at Pfizer just had a lay off and I guess really that you have to look at most pharma jobs as 3-5 years jobs right now but for some reason the Acadia job just makes me more nervous.
It’s a tough call for me because the base pay is almost unheard of and the bonus plan is really strong and the 401k match is pretty solid (not the best 401k but def not bad at all).

Anyway that’s my input. Thanks to all of the others for sharing what they really make too!

You could have stopped here without taking so much time to anonymously post your career history to total strangers. This is a simple solution for you. Take the Acadia job and go hug somebody that you care about. Like others have said, if you can get a 10-20k raise don’t seek out anonymous advice/approval just take the job pal. The only other advice that I can give you is don’t settle or sell yourself short in your pharma career. What’s your ultimate salary goal in pharma? Is 135 your ultimate goal? You should not sell yourself short!

Look at this loser still here hitting refresh every 5 mins in case he needs to re-activate DEFENDER mode.
What would we ever do without someone like you that didn’t get past the phone screen at Acadia here to reach us how to get that big money? lmaooooooo.
I mean every start up company has a guy that makes a trillion dollars base salary hanging out on it’s cafe pharma site posting within 5 minutes of everybody else & telling them that they could make soooo much more. bwwaaaahhhhhhaaaaa!!!!

We are so lucky to have someone like you that’s gainfully employed and happy af at your current job and making all that bank but yet takes all the time to post several times a day on here coaching us all up on big money salary. It’s almost unbelievable lolololol omfg lololol

I agree the problem with these young entitled reps is they only see things through their world. They are insecure and get very threatened when other reps are not aligned with their narrow perspective and lower salary. They need to focus on growing their own careers and stop trying to twist things by comparing themselves to others. Nobody said Acadia is a terrible and low paying job. The point was that it’s a very good career growth position that can lead to even better paying opportunities as you progress in your pharma career. All the other Jr High troll post are immature and moronic.

The discussion in this whole thread is about pay and not what position we may or may not take next.
Acadia Offers some of the best pay in Specialty the industry and that’s a fact.
Just look in this thread at how woke AF one poster is because Acadia told him that he wasn’t good enough. He knows he can’t get this kind of pay in specialty and legit posts all day and in to the wee hours of the night for anybody asking about this job.
People that have work in positions outside of specialty or making $500 billion dollars base salary don’t hang out on a start up board trying to convince people that they can do better lololololol.

I love to see how many times ole sugar tits posts trying to convince people how good he’s doing and that $135 is not that much compared to him lmaooooo

How many people do you know that are in such advanced positions making $200k more than this position that come to a small company board to be a life coach and adamantly spend hours a day for weeks trying to convince people that the pay isn’t great omfg lmaooooo lololololo

    Game. Set. Match.

I agree Its phenomenal pay for a Pfizer jr high rookie like you currrently making 105,500. Now stop multiple posting as different people all over this thread boosting like a Virgin who has never seen salary like that before. Numb nut!

It’s ok you are obviously mentally tapped out with your redaudent 7th grade posts. That’s right everyone who posts on here is beneath you and of course standing in the unemployment line. You just keep delusionally believing that! Lol. Your thought process is ingenious and cutting edge for CP. Your material has such innovation and originality never before seen on here. From the beginning you had the ostrich effect written all over your immature ass. Now go run to your mommy and ask her to explain you willful ignorant punk!

Well to be fair it’s very difficult to find a specialty company that pays this kind of base and bonus

Some fair balance on all the salary talk on here. Big pharma is typically not your ticket to get a big base salary as most are more hybrid specialty roles along with PCP. Novartis is one of the few big pharma’s that can offer new hire base pay 150 and above. I’m specifically speaking CNS specialty and of course if your pay history is already north of 120s. The following are several other CNS pharma’s known to offer at least 145 and above on base. Intracellar, SK,Acorda, UCB, Zogenix, Adamas, Otsuka and there are more. Hopefully, Acadia does not face covid challenges especially around LTC and can get this sales force in gear.

To be fair ...I work at Novartis and we don’t make anywhere close to $150.
Acorda?! Gtfo here lololo...their stock price is literally $.60 a share. That’s sixty cents lmaooo.

Adamas? Bwwaahhhaafuggginhahahaha...Theur stock price is $4 a share.

Cot Dayum man, these are the kind of stocks that were sold in Wolf of Wall Street.

I wouldn’t take a job there if they really did pay me $150k. Good lord they’d fogging fold up before you finished training.

What a desperate post to try to validate not sniffing an interview from highly sought after Acadia swinging theur big balls $135k base and future Billion dollar drug

Ok I won’t rip your ass just yet. I’ll just cut around the center and watch it fall out. You make this way to easy with your jr high noodle brain. Next time bring something more than a desperation narcissistic defense mechanism.

Wait is this your best post that you want to stick with? Just want to give you every opportunity to pull your intellect out of the crapper. BTW I have nothing to defend whatsoever. All I do on here is roast your sorry mentally disabled ass. I don’t knock Acadia or anyone else. Just you son.

I mean it’s just so rare to find somebody that makes $150k base and works for a successful penny stock company that for some unknown reason hangs out on the new Acadia board offering free career coaching advice on how people can do soooooo much better than Acadia. I mean everyone here really wonders how we are so lucky that you randomly stumbled across this board for no reason and ya e spent hours each day for weeks explaining how we can all do better for ourselves lmaooo

We greatly value all of your posts convincing us that these 6 penny stocks that you named can pay us so much more. I mean I’d never heard of this pump and dump stocks until you enlightened us lololol

Maybe one day we can work for a company that trades for a nickel a share. I’m sure those companies can afford to really lay down the base pay for the really good reps that I’m just sure are knocking down there door.

    Game. Set. Match.
    I win again

One of your problems is you always seem to confuse yourself (I) with “we” (others). Your dumb ass is not the baseline comparator for anything other than delusions and grandiosity. This is all about you and your dumbness. Stop spinning and twisting things with your jr high brain. You are obviously a mentally challenged self assuming 12 year old who sucks. Just because you are a failure and under valued and under paid does not mean others are. Your post about Novartis not paying 150 is an out right lie. You need to post that “you” work at Novartis and you suck and can’t sniff real pay. I can personally tell you from myself and many others that Novartis brings tenured and talented new hires over for 150 in neuroscience.
