Considering an energy position in Fresno, can anyone give insight on pros and cons of the company, manager, environment, etc.?

Entry level position with company that does not value you, nor compensates relative to how difficult space is! Training is not very good , and energy is laughed at by all other divisions.
Suggest you look at other companies that will develop you.

Disagree. Cant paint energy with that broad brush!

Fresno is a historically good territory with lots of potential. Manager is new to being a manager but has lots of experience in the Energy space and is good to work under.

    Its a good job!

Fresno is a strong territory and one that still has potential. The division itself is on its way out as there are rumors of Energy layoffs and/or reorg in the near future. The company itself is obviously big and treats each of us as a number. As for the manager, she know Energy. She is very familiar with the business, the product and the competition. She is new to the manager role and has a lot to learn. Her reputation as a sales rep is strong, but her reputation as a manager is pretty much the opposite. Rumor is that she has already pissed off a lot of her new peers at management meetings because she speaks before thinking, but again, that part is a rumor. Good luck to you.

Why would you go to work for Olympus? The company is struggling big time. Keep looking for a better company that treats its reps better, especially in terms of pay and work/life balance...

Ask the average tenure of each rep, target comp then ask how many people hit the number last 3 years. This is the worst of the worst. TOXIC culture, sub standard products, revolving door with ZERO TRUST!
Energy is laughed at by the other Olympus Reps. The Energy division leader ship is void of experience, Integrity, and passion. Tanner is like a bobbing head dog with no spine.

  7. I have worked for this company since the Gyrus days (where it was respected). These days there is zero respect for reps. Management is pathetic. All Regional VP's in the West are totally worthless. Do yourself a favor and run away from any and all opportunities you see from this train wreck!

The company is doing just fine, but Energy is a total joke. We are always wondering when they are going to combine energy with surgical endoscopy and get it over with. i don’t even know how the energy team even sells anything. marketing is incompetent, so is sales leadership except for the VP.

Can someone tell me what the training is like for the Energy Division. Do you go somewhere for training? If so, is it in person or virtual? TIA
