I am considering looking into employment opportunities with Dexcom. I understand the base salary is significantly less than most Pharma companies but commission potential/earnings supplements the difference. Feedback appreciated for what to expect for salary? Commision + salary? Car allowance? Ty

90K base, 60K bonus at plan, car allowance..
Most territories are not at plan, crazy goals

^^correct^^ but......the company doesn't really know what it's doing. Poor sales leadership, extreme goals that are forever changing, large territories, no $$ for good marketing programs, no insight into growing the market.... Inside support is a total joke, they can't keep the good ones and the bad ones kill your sales. Medtronic and Abbott CGM's are making a strong impact on the market---they have more $$ and more reps and have actually started infiltrating PCP markets with success whereas we don't have the time to grow in that segment. It's really sad that Dexcom has missed some great opportunities.

If you haven't sold CGM, you will find it a very rewarding market. Nothing beats a parent's thank you for giving them piece of mind while watching their child's glucose, day and night.

Don't do it.. Company is a mess right now and people are starting to leave. Goals are completely insane, poor leadership and the inside sales team is a total shit show! Not to mention , Abbot Libre;s recent approval!!

Anything that SM handles, including inside sales, is a mess. Almost ruined the company last year then gets promoted for gettting things back to normal (his normal standards way below what other, ompanies would be).

The company is a mess. They don't understand the need and means for growth, reimbursement, sales logistics. Internally, sales support sucks. Externally, sales goals are enormous and now with Libre hitting the market at a lower price and Medtronic pushing their professional system, we're seeing a big decline in sales. Not to mention that they treat employees terribly, bonus' are wrong and they won't provide the data so you can tell if you're on or off target. Too bad, they could be a great company.

Yep, Great product but the leadership and management is a joke... No accountability for the disaster they call an inside sales team. Massive turnover on the inside partnered with ridiculous goals = disaster!.. Unfortunate situation.. Used to be the place to be and make great money.. The party is over at Dexcom. Expect a big exodus in 2018, morale at an all time low in 5 years. Time to start calling Recruiters and networking elsewhere, Time to go!!!

What is the company like in 2019? Any improvements? Are goals attainable?

3 reps (1 former, 2 current) told me it’s more “putting out fires” From patients and patient’s parents and chasing orders than ever selling. One said money is great. All mentioned their phones never stop with the fire calls.

The above reply is 100% accurate. Great product, objectively dexcom is the premier cgm. Working for them however, it’s punishing. Don’t wreck your quality of life, it’s not worth it.

Question for you all- what is the primary difference (s) between the Territory Acct Mgr and the Clinical Acct Manager? Is the clinical acct mgr more of a product specialist for HCPs, hospitals, etc., while the TAM has more interaction and is on-call with the patients and their families ( in addition to calling on offices)?

Thank you! I did read the two job descriptions but there seems to be overlap.
