I’ve never been prouder of the Company!

Frazier’s comments Thursday also coincided with the announcement of a
hiring initiative designed to address income inequality between Black and White Americans. Frazier co-founded the organization called OneTen alongside a coalition of business leaders. Its goal is to help train, hire and then promote 1 million Black Americans in the next decade.

“What we want to be able to do is promote the most talented people, not the best networkers,” said Frazier, one of the most high-profile Black executives in the country. “And I think all of us have to be much more aware of the fact that, frankly, there are a bunch of fictions — I’ll be blunt — around African American talent that have to be dismantled in order for African Americans to have an equal opportunity inside corporate America.”

He’s about Action. Corporate America sees dollar signs in the “future demographics” of America. They know that younger Americans will call these companies out for useless “conversations” as they’re tired of Talk. Major billion dollar companies are following his lead.

Among the 37 companies that signed at OneTen’s founding are
Eli Lilly, General Motors, Bank of America
and Johnson & Johnson, Comcast, the parent of CNBC, also is participating.

“What we have here is a failure of the education-to-employment pipeline in this country,” Frazier said. “What we’re trying to do with OneTen is to address that by making it a skills-first hiring paradigm, not a credentials-first hiring paradigm, because as long as you have a credentials-first hiring paradigm, there’s going to be disproportionate impact on African Americans.”

This will never be enforced in MRL where hiring and promotion is strictly by credentials and not by performance. Only PhDs get promoted, no matter how incompetent. Everyone else is a turd. It’s an academic mindset and will never have economic success.

Merck needs to stay with science and avoid politics. The diversity PC "enlightenment" is sickening and amoral.

Merck has taken diversity to a whole new level. When I joined this company almost 30 years ago you hired the best person for the role. Now it’s about age, gender, sexual orientation, color, ethnicity. I don’t give a shit what anyone says but this is fact. Every day at Merck is diversity and inclusion day. No thanks!

You are so right, Merck is completely over swinging on the diversity hires for most leadership positions. Look around at some of the recent appointments. Hire the best candidate for the job, not because of the color of their skin.

It’s really incredible how disgustingly racist people are. This is exactly why minorities do not feel comfortable applying to jobs in this industry.

He really just needs to keep his opinions to himself. The country is divided enough. Telling us who we should be voting for and forcing us to be on Covid calls where George Floyd is brought up. Simmer down Frazier, you're among professionals.

He needs to focus on stockholders not social inequality when he is on CNBC. In his free time he can do whatever he wants.

Ever hear of Pareto distribution (80-20 rule)?
    - 20% of the people shape 80% of outcomes
    - That 20% owns 80% of the wealth.

I know, Kenneth C. Frazier, CEO of unfathomable talent and skill has left a massive void.
(And I'd say that about 99.5% of all CEOs in American no matter their phenotype.)

    But, I'll be blunt -

    • Hypocritical behavior when it served him politically like the lawyer that he is. Remember, a lawyer is an individual with skills to circumvent laws of the land PRN.
      • One question your Honor, "What do you know about and will share, for the sake of the molested and forever damaged children subjected to Jerry Sandusky, Mr. Frazier?"
      • MRK, A long litany of Primary Offenses with various agencies and penalties (link below)
        • The discrimination cases dealt with matters like maternity leave, etc. to the best of knowledge.
        • Where does that buck stop?
      • No change, in fact, acceleration of Total Executive Compensation. This is a major social issue as it breeds a 'cheating culture' at MRK, in industry and our culture.
        • Does this brilliant business person not know, actions have many consequences? He behaves no different than other phenotypes when he can influence the Board, major stockholders and the Compensation Committee. Lacks any real sense of social justice in action in this regard. Meaning his goal was transgenerational like those other phenotypes. Gives, in his massive excess.
      • Add your illustration here.
    • "OneTen alongside a coalition of business leaders: Goal is to help train, hire and then promote 1 million Black Americans in the next decade." So, that's the myopic, moral and 'socially just' goal over half a generation as we rapidly change as a nation?
      • Talk about discrimination against respected, driven, talented, hard working Americans of a different phenotype. HISPANICS/ LATINOS; ASIANS and yes, our NATIVE AMERICANS.
      • The facts should lead the social justice parade. If not, I'll be BLUNT as an aggressive lawyer, it is intellectually, morally, ethically untenable.
        • Here are projected demographic shifts in AMERICA ~25 years from now (Chart below).
        • Class, review the chart for our UHNW retired CEO. What would you tell Mr. Frazier?
        1. HISPANICS/LATINOS move from 14% to a WHOPPING 29%. They only trail Whites who drop to about 1 in 2 at 47% of U.S. citizens.
        2. ASIANS grow 3 to 4 times approaching 10% of the population at 9%. WOW. Just behind,
        3. Blacks who grow in absolute numbers as the country grows; but not in terms of the percentage of "workers", "leaders" with high principles and character we need.
          1. Blacks/AA remain approximately at 13% of the U.S. population.
        4. Unfortunately, Native Americans continue to be left behind.
      • What's the FICTION about HISPANICS/LATINOS, ASIANS and NATIVE AMERICANS?
        • And many believe the "rules" of engagement and "value" that that entity, that candidate brings does not have to see "changed rules" to participate and succeed. That "most talented person", always, all ways.
    • Ken, come clean for once and hit us with the truth about how you moved up the corporate ladder?
      • How you became the "chosen one" along the way? Did networking play any role? A significant role? A massively, decisive political role to the top? Hypocrite perfected.
      • If Kenneth writes a book, and he's likely writing his memoir as we speak, he will wax humbly about how his talent landed him each job. But then he will have to share the Roy V's or legal eagle, etc. etc. etc. A mighty network to pull him forward and up. I swam a bit in your waters, Kenny. I know your fine with that cause you have a "just cause" to twist it as needed. But the facts are facts. It should be a BIG 4TEN for the HISPANICS/LATINOS, ASIANS, BLACKS and NATIVE AMERICANS.

    * Congratulations on your illustrious career. All comments are simply comments that are not intended to cause duress, nor judgement, simply opinions supported by the First Amendment of the United States of America. Some of us simply, do want opportunity for all Americans. And you, so impressively, are in a position to give back for all Americans moving into the workforce knowing what you know of who helped you big time along the way. God bless everyone of every race color and creed. God bless the aged discriminated against. Those suffering from a mental disorder or degrees of mental illness. And on it goes to all Americans. Success to all and may people with a platform strive for far more ambitious goals that are not intended to canonize; but humbly help all "new comers" to the corporate America panacea.
