    Preferred, not exclusive!

"As the preferred in-network laboratory for all products, we look forward to continue working to reduce the cost of care, improve member outcomes, and enhance the experience for EmblemHealth and ConnectiCare members."

I can’t believe that Quest hasn’t informed their sales force they no longer have an exclusive contract with emblem considering there was a press release from a major lab regarding emblem

    Who cares!?!

MCOs have long realized it's foolish to have "exclusive" contracts with labs. There might be 1 or 2 still, but those are moribund. They're probably 1-2 (or 3) that have preferred status. If sales reps need anything more than a preferred contract, then they suck. Even with an exclusive contract, large physician groups can be carved out at will.

    Imbeciles indeed.

I guess they still haven’t told Quest sales rep yet

Quest sales reps could care less. They're still able to sell and keep clients with a preferred status - the highest contract status - usually includes 2-3 labs. Exclusive contracts are no longer needed in this industry, hence the disappearing of these. It could be costly for a lab and they have to deal with all the small, non-profitable accounts. There is NOT another lab with better managed care contracts. Period.

quest has nothing to offer different than lca, not efficient, cumbersome system, only thing they can boost revenue is by creating a lawsuit against smaller labs that do offer customer first mentality, doctors call you guys a cartel with lca….greedy lab with high cost and cannot take care of offices without making them wait on hold or days to answer a simple question. Prove me wrong.
