The New Normal

It seems covid will be here for a long time. Some are saying it may never go away. If we have to wear masks to protect ourselves I’m all for it. I only wear 1 mask but many of my friends wear 2 or 3. I would rather wear masks potentially forever than get this terrible virus. It’s already killed 500k. So scary. Please safe everyone.

 

I agree! I have a friend who got it and was sick for almost a week with a fever and bad cough. She said she was so weak and tired. Everyone needs to follow the rules and wear the dang mask(s)

I agree. If scared, you are fully able to wear as many masks as you would like. If you are scared, you can also stay home as long as you like. The rest of us are ready to be humans again.

 

This is foolish and it’s why the virus continues to spread. There is talk of a new strain coming here from Europe too. Everyone needs to wear masks until the virus is gone or it will keep coming back.

Whenever I go to the grocery store I always wear 3 masks and gloves. At home I only wear 1 mask. I don’t mind wearing the masks because it has protected me from the virus. The only sad part is that my husband and I sleep in separate rooms now just to be safe.

 

Best post of the thread! Yes, let's all get vaccinated against a virus so deadly that you have to get tested to know that you have it. A virus with a 99.97% survivability rate - the government's own numbers. Only the elderly and those with underlying health conditions need to be concerned. Most who contract it will have mild symptoms, if any at all, and will not require hospitalization. Most people have nothing to fear from Wu Flu. But live in fear if it you want. I refuse to live with that mindset.

 

Tell that to the 600K people that have died. You are a fool not to wear masks and gloves

I was going to respond with something poetically prophetic but ill save it for someone who realizes wearing 3 masks and destroying the US economy is overkill for a flu like pathogen with a 99.9 percent survival rate for people under 65 without respiratory issues.

Apologies, i didnt mean to make you emotional. Can you tell me what scares you most about this virus? Is it the 99 percent survival rate? Is it that cardiovascular deaths and all flu cases have dropped dramatically due to the way covid is being recorded? Is it that there was no material difference in deaths last year compared to the prior year pre covid? Perhaps its the fact we are told something new about it every couple of months that contradicts what we were previously led to believe..?

 

Flu cases have dropped because people are wearing the masks. 500k have died and it continues to climb. Please wear the masks and gloves. This virus is terrifying.

 

Please don’t leave your basement. Car wrecks, skin cancer, pollution, alcoholism, random shootings, trips and falls, etc...... are all terrifying.

 

Some of those can be controlled. Just like the virus. With masks and gloves and the vaccine together we can slow the spread. Please do your part.
