Mass exodus from oncology

it’s GSK...they always do lame things they try to brand as “innovative”. I came from Tesaro and GSK was a great reminder of how dysfunctional Big Pharma is from a commercial perspective. It took me back 20 years to my first PC job out of college. It’s like nothing has changed. So weird. Glad I got out. Landed at an amazing biotech and life is back to normal.

Heard more people left this past week. Hiring has been slow as the word gets out that this OBU is terribly run from the top down. When they gonna can these CTL’s? What the hell do these people do?

Suffice to say that any of the remaining Tesaro people are the bottom of the barrel who no one wanted. After numerous build-outs offering far better opportunities if you are ex-Tesaro and are still here it speaks volumes of how poorly you are viewed in the oncology industry...but that's what happens at terrible companies like GSK...cannot attract or retain top talent...we only get and keep the F-players..no A,B,C or even D players..the OBU is a bastion for the F player that no one wants.

 

So true! GSK could not identify talent if it bit them in the s$$! Look around. Look at your counterparts. Mediocre is a compliment. I feel safe in saying that 80% of the current field salesforce is average to below average. High performers have left to specialty divisions or left the company entirely. So embarrassing to call most of you colleagues. A bunch of lazy tools and "working moms" who scam the system day in and day out.
