I heard one of Verathon’s scopes recently broke off during a procedure. Scary stuff!

you mean after tens of thousands of cases there was a product failure? Damn, shut it down. Olympus scopes last 15 uses before needing a $5000 repair. The hospital bean counters are tired of that shit. Compared to bflex, Ambu is a pos and no doctor is actually excited to use it. They did pave the way in the disposable scope market, so good for them. The bflex is going to dominate for the next 3 years as long as verathon keeps winning gpo contracts and competing on price where necessary.

side note about ambu: you know it’s garbage when a department converts to bflex from a-scope despite it being more expensive.

verathon management getting worse by the day. No transparency or communication, and execs never leave the office. classic big wig mentality nowadays. An unbelievable glidescope product being ruined by a bunch of execs that work 9-4 working on excel and powerpoints all day. embarrassing.
