    Why are there no trans leaders at Astellas? I am totally PO’d. The diversity department must get to work. Pardon the pun, but we are getting shafted.

    I enjoy irritating you with the truth. Why would you become upset with someone pushing for transgenders getting special treatment. Shouldn’t they be given positions of power based on their plight. Oh I forgot only African American lives matter. Shallow minded and weak

    GREAT POST. I'm going to greatly broaden the discussion as we do not live in the world of Astellas 24/7.

    We are living in the AGE of a CANCEL CULTURE. If I disagree with you, you will collectively work very hard to cancel all that I am and my point of view. As if for example, racism is exclusive to the majority in any culture. Here are two examples, imho, from very wealthy "stars" in our culture: LeBron James has made several major racist comments. He has made millions from the communist country he made a huge blunder 'supporting' country over social justice. For example, he openly has defamed Jewish Americans. I actually know the guy, he behaves like an unequivocal racist by way of his actions. He is not a looking to be fair & just, moral & ethical. He appears to be looking to right wrongs with over reach. And Oprah, we all heard her comments recently. She showed her inherent racial bias yet made her "billion" off of predominately a middle class white female audience. These people are not true leaders or healers; they're dividers. (And I am not saying our current President Trump is any different.) They all are not practicing the BEATITUDES like blessed are the peace makers. Yet, they reference God and Jesus Christ when they feel the need to "use" God.

    I have an educational foundation in the sociological constructs of racism from BIRTH to DEATH. So, I had to learn a bit of the signals, cues, tendencies, etc. Not the obvious overt signs like those referenced above. Personally, I rejected my father's focused, racial bias. Personally, I never condoned in present day or historically, nor possessed any slave. I never denied or fired or transferred any minority because of their skin color. Also, it's notable, (and I still have fond memories as a teen) I hung out with one of the very few African Americans in my town when others absolutely would not. Approached each person individually based on how they behaved not on superficial traits or characteristics. Taught my children the same thing. So, this company can leave those important things to responsible adults, not corporate correct-ism. (The company's executives are trying to get mileage, get points, out of a bad situation.) I have nothing to feel regret or guilt/shame over race. You see, if you read this long note this far, you have to listen to one another to understand our perspective to really have any chance for human understanding, sharing, and dare I say, exhibiting deep compassion for one another's circumstance as the case may be. We help and heal one person at a time.

    And the issue of police behavior, no sane person condoned, but rather condemned what we saw regarding the video & the subsequent death of George Floyd. No one.
    • But, does anyone even KNOW the # of blacks killed by police (of various race) across all the U.S. last year?
    • Does anyone even know the # that were ruled clearly justified, lethal force?
    • Of the remaining, 'unacceptably' low number, those police personnel should be in jail for life or whatever is just.
    With us staring at a downward spiral, what solutions do you want regarding police targeting, police brutality, police misuse of power? I WANT real solutions like: Work to reduce Police Union power across the country as the Unions are known to insulate bad apples. Create independent police tribunals to in theory, to provide unbiased judgement against police charged with any major misconduct. We need to do anything to root out 'bad apple' police before they become police personnel and at any time in their career. What solutions do you have for what was the nidus

    Here. In our little Astellas microcosm. They can practice the poor business practice of contemporary affirmative action; but it will only weaken us because the best candidate should always move forward. The executive leadership will always do that, whatever "best means to them" when back filling the executive team from CEO down. Always. So they are HYPOCRITES of the highest order.

    Now bring on the hate and cancelling culture way rather than actual dialogue and movement to understanding & peace.

    Great job illustrating his positions through your cancel culture hate of him, his crime is being rational and using logic, not emotions.

    The Executive Committee here is tearing this company apart from the inside out. Actions speak louder than words.

    Even though HR is a global function, they seem to be shielding PBK from the C-Suite's eyes. HR negligence of the highest order.

    I marked my race as mixed on the application. That’s at option now. You can also choose “prefer not to answer.”

    But technically we are all mixed race so I can’t safer marking mire than one race although I’m white in color.

    I find it ironic, our Company falls in line with the Liberal “Woke”, Diversity/Inclusive, BLM and all the other progressive mess only to be screwed by the HR-3 Bill aimed at destroying the Pharma Industry. Anyone employees who voted Democrat I guess missed the memo that their party is out to ruin the Greatest Health Care System in the World.

    You need to leave the industry then if you left due to it being too liberal here. That’s the issue..narrow minded thinking instead of embracing everyone and trying to learn from others.
