Will somebody tell me the high end of base pay that AZ will pay for an external hire in primary care?
    And the annual target bonus.

I’m not certain because I’m not on the primary care dude but I think if you’re really really experienced and they wanted you really bad that you could get $120k base.

And I would recommend trying to negotiate vacation. Starting at 3 weeks isn’t enough IMO

there is absolutely no way in hell that a PC rep of ANY level experience is going to walk in at $120. That’s just facts. 3+ weeks of vacation…yes. Bonus at plan would be in the $20s. Salary though….you’re looking more likely in the mid 90s for someone with 12-15 years PC experience. If you were in speciality you’d be 110+, bio 135+++.

Recent hire for PC with lots of experience here...They offered 88K with a 22K bonus....I countered and they barely budged. I took it because you know...I got bills to pay and had been looking for months. I really like my boss and team so making a bit less has it's upside.

    Thanks for the responses.

$22k annual target bonus is really disappointing. That’s pretty low for the industry.
Well I had an AZ rep tell me that they could bring me in at $115-$120k base so I’m confused by the different responses. She did say I’d be on the high side of base though

not a chance. That would never pass muster with budget or HR or MRP. Maybe MAYBE you could pull $115 if you were specialty with a ton of exp, but No way In pc

way to go pimp. Just a few $’s above $100K with bonus.

Your bills must be pretty inexpensive.

The bonus depends on what level you come in at. The higher on the career ladder you are, the more bonus potential. For example, in a POD that has 3 reps and only one is them is Executive, everyone has the same numbers, but the Executive rep gets paid more bonus.

Go out for the position and put your requested salary down and see what they offer. Highly unlikely to get $100K as a primary care rep. Not likely. Just my thoughts

Look, PCP reps are feeder roles. Directive is to hire recent college grads if possible for lower salary. Train them up or counsel them out if they aren't cutting it. Even if you bring 15+ years to the role, don't expect more that $100K. Definitely the exception if you are able to get more.

Good for you. It’s important to be happy. Hope you get to the salary you want to be at soon.

Don’t sell yourself short! Doesn’t hurt to ask. Relatively new PC here…been at AZ about a year or so…have experience calling on specialists and been in industry 9 years. $102 K base. I have never tried to get more vkay time but now I think I should have asked.

Not trying to be rude..but why would anyone with more than a couple years experience or specialty experience be going for a PC role? Is there actually an upside to PC since I left it years ago? Even money aside I feel that the quality of life in any specialty job is better than PC, no?

Ive been on both the PC and specialty side at AZ. I can say that there is almost no difference in the way I am managed. Most "leadership" roles in specialty are filled by PC has beens that are clueless how to manage a specialty force. My team mates and I have to hold our laughter at his suggestions because they are so out dated and wouldn't work even if we were PC reps in the 90's.

In years past, your performance was the leading indicator for specialty (either as PSS or DM). Now it is all about "networking" (a corporate word for ass kissing). The fucking games that have to be played are silly. Many high performers aren't gonna do it.
And this whole BOBWA BS. Please, from the people I know, it is BOBWA but the W stands for WITH not without.

How about new hire bonus protection?
