Ok ok... hundreds... no.. thousands of hours being spent on an IT strategy that everyone seems to be saying is The Emperor's New Clothes. So much of it is so poorly thought through, it's quite shocking. Is no one going to speak truth to power with the boss?
IT strategy is not based on user requirements its based on $ savings on products and licences at all cost even if that means huge disruption to users as that is a non tangible cost to IT. The current other way of saving cash is not to replace staff when they leave but just make the current staff work harder but they then leave as over worked. Its a total downwards cycle.
