AstraZeneca Business Director Bob Gilot posted this video on a company intranet site in May of 2020 just as the pandemic peaked and most pharmaceutical companies had pulled their representatives out of the field. The latter half of this message directed representatives to “get creative” with ways to get in front of Doctors and their staffs while these healthcare professionals were doing everything they could to stay safe. His direction included “meeting them in the parking lot” or “at the back door”. These medical professionals were not seeing sales people at that time, and this was clearly unethical. Many people had problems with this video, and some were fired or severed in the months that followed. Are there recommendations for how to deal with this since AstraZeneca ha swept it under the rug?
