I was excited to be a part of the new Halozyme culture, but now feel like I’m in a micromanagement case study. It’s becoming apparent Halozyme doesn’t have experience working with a sales team given their bipolar knee jerk reactions and constant addition of new micromanagement rules. Whether it was their intention or not, Halozyme is trending to be a rep hostile company. I was hoping Helen would have seen through the Tlando façade before launch so it wouldn’t turn into a debacle, but no such luck. It appears Bob’s poor purchasing decisions to falsely boost the company’s value worked for him and has had a detrimental affect on the company with the sales force taking most of the blame. But at least we now get 2 more PTO days minus 2 holidays which make the witch hunts totally worth it.

Interesting you feel this way. As an Antares rep, I absolutely love Helen. In terms of micromanaging, it really depends on the manager you have. I fortunately have an experienced manager that doesn’t do that. She hired tenured reps and she absolutely trust us in handling our business. Obviously, if our numbers are down, she will step in to help us turn things around.

As far as Halozyme, the future is very bright. We have a great CEO that runs a financially sound company. I can’t wait to see what products come out next.

Financially sound until this acquisition. Bob A. should be sued. He stuffed the channel with product and knowingly inflated the sales forecast. Helen believed it and now the company is in dire financial shape. She will need to sell the commercial business at a loss and it may cost her big time. Very sad that a poorly run company with one decent product which was launched well will bring down a solid company with a bright future.

The fact you think the commercial side of Antares hurts Halozyme is foolish. Halozyme is financially sound because of the ENHANZE royalties. There are several candidates in Phase III trials. At least one is at the FDA for approval. Some of these drugs will generate billions for the leading companies bringing in larger revenue for Halozyme. We get royalist off these until 2034. The Auto Injector business is why they purchased Antares. Helen recognizes she needs to diversify revenue sources. We are in the beginning stages of building a successful commercial business. They are looking at a lot of opportunities to commercialize other infusion products that are coming off patent. The future is bright at Halozyme.

Since the acquisition you feel like you're in a micromanage case study and Halozyme is becoming rep hostile? You sound dramatic and theatrical. Specific examples would be justified to substantiate your claims. Fact is Halozyme has poured resources and money into commercial operations, they've given field personnel stock in the company, they've given just about every rep in the field pay raises and in return the company expects performance and goal attainment. Ya sounds hostile.

Simple fact, Antares no longer exists, Halozyme purchased the company and Halozyme has new expectations. Accountability from field to corporate. If you don't like the new ownership, part ways. A negative wavering attitude does nothing for the greater good of the organization.

One last note, if you're being micromanged , I have to assume your below expectations and your manger is either trying to train you up or can you.

Goals are unrealistic especially with poor commercial coverage
The reps with good coverage are repeatedly at top of leaderboard good reps flounder but not their fault and a co pay card or cash pay does make up for poor coverage
    Need better resources to sell
