Lost Civilizations is a category for companies that have either been dissolved or acquired. The boards serve as both an archive of the old company posts, as well as a place for former employees to reminisce or reconnect, as they will remain open for posting. Sales Rep Paradise? What a joke! Run, Run, Run!

    To anyone looking at a job baxter advanced surgery - look elsewhere! Majority of the reps are in commission payback for Q1. Let me explain that, over most of the reps didn’t hit their target quotas and owe Baxter money instead of getting paid (bc we are on a partial draw Q1). Not for a lack of trying because they redesigned out comp plan and it’s a train wreck. There hasn’t been a COL adjustment in years to account for inflation. Most companies have already adjusted compensation due to the record levels of inflation we have seen. Advanced surgery has no pipeline… Do not come here, it will be a complete waste of your time and you will make very little/if any commission. Please do your dd and reach out to reps on LinkedIn to verify this. Leadership is a clown show. Just take a look at our stock price it has gone from in the $90’s to the $30’s. DO NOT join the sinking ship, you will be 100% sorry if you do.

    This is 100% on Vince and his band of misfits, Tyler, Claire and Erin. But what will Vince do? First, he'll blame everyone but himself (the sales force didn't commit, the RM's over-forecasted, blah, blah, blah) and then he'll do absolutely nothing. He'll claim Steve won't let him change the comp plan but then Steve will say, "it's up to Vince".
    What's funny/ironic is that when Vince got here he complained about our comp plan and how it put people in payback. Now he's made a bad situation worse.
    We're stuck this year and until our leadership gets paid the same way we do, this will continue.

    I left 2 months ago and it was the best decision I ever made. Middle management is delusional, product qualities and not enough support. Complete recipe for disaster.

    Mgt is completely delusional, they are completely disconnected with the competitive landscape in the field. They don’t understand how VAC control every product that comes into the hospital and how surgeons no longer have a choice in what products they use. They are completely delusional on the effectiveness and mandated compliance of Ethicon ability to enforce their contracts. We are losing contract after contract and getting pulled off the shelf of hospitals daily. They aren’t seeing the big picture and adjusting our strategy appropriately. The only strategy they have is to have surgeons demand our products based on clinical value but they fail to realize surgeons can’t do that anymore hospitals don’t care about what they want. It’s a joke… Management is making business decisions based on the environment they sold (if they ever sold) in 10 years ago which is now completely non-existent.

    When you say management, let’s be clear, it’s our VP of Sales, our VP of Marketing, our IDN AVP and Commercial Ops. They had and have absolutely no strategy for our products and just shoved quota out without a single plan. Nothing.
    We’ve all said this isn’t ortho and you can’t use your surgeon relationships to keep pushing products. Yes, we have great products but we get beat by the Ethicon marketing and contract machine. Their products suck but they contract the shit out of them.
    Vince, Iftekhar, Derek and Tyler have no plans and no strategy. They’re panicked and it’s showing. Heard that Vince and Steve had to answer for his big miss to Heather after the state of the company call. Would have loved to have been on that call.

    All of these comments are completely true. However, you are wasting precious time and energy hoping other people will change. They’re not going to. Take control and leave the company.
