I am looking at switching from Camlog, and a specialist in my area likes Astra. I briefly spoke to a rep but she wouldn't give me a straight answer to what the cost is?

Anyone know what their pricing is for an implant, abutment, cover screw, etc?

You must be the same rep trolling the Straumann board for answers to the same question. At least change the wording a bit. It's this limited skill set that probably keeps you from moving up out of the knockoff world.

Astra is going to cost you alot more than Camlog given that Dentsply already bought the most expensive implant company out there - besides maybe nobel

you have so many more cost effective alternatives
like my company - not afraid to get beaten up here
    www.implantdepot.com
full line of compatible implants an abutments

On this knockoff website it states "quality and price are unsurpassed"

Well, at least one of those descriptions is true.

On the "research" page, you can't open any of the "studies" and the titles and where they were allowed entry aren't worth much to anyone. 7 references does not an implant leader make.

Thanks for enriching the medical device world with your innovations. They are truly game-changing.

As for marketing advice, clinicians tend to not buy their medical devices from anywhere called a "depot". Hand-me-down clothes maybe, but not implants. Good luck.

So good of Keith Goldstein to chime in here. You get canned from two implant companies and you go and stay in............implants? Dude, you and the other re-treads are what is helping kill this industry. You are lazy and pathetic. Go and try and sell anything else! Oh, I forgot you don't like to work for your money. Sad, what doctors say about you when you leave their office. GET A LIFE BRO!!

No one reading that believes you.

That makes you not only lazy, but stupid too.

I don't work for Astra, but it's definitely better than whatever you're pitching.

A knock off of a knock off. Great idea- until someone decides to make a knock off of a knock off knock off. Fucking ridiculous.

If you have used Astra and like it, try Dentium.

Give us a break loser. It is a screw made out of a block of titanium. They all work. You must be the rep that drank the corporate Kool-aid.
Any dentist with common sense realizes this. Straumann, Nobel, 3i, Astra, Zimmer, Bicon, etc...all extremely different ALL WORK.

All may work- EVENTUALLY. Some integrate faster, some have higher failure rates, etc. Not all blocks of Ti are equal. Hospital grade is much different from Ti alloy. Sounds like you drank your own flavor of corporate Kool-Aid to me. Any rep or clinician who preaches that "a screw is a screw" or "it's all titanium and it all integrates" is simply ignorant to the science behind it. Read up, sonny.

Wow--you must be right. Except no veteran specialists (who aren't some knockoff sales dope with a sub-standard education and a crappy salary to match) agree with you. I wonder why that is?

For every specialist that you get to say Astra works great I can find 50 specialists that will say Nobel, 3i, Zimmer, Straumann, Implant Direct, and even BiCon work great. They all get their titanium from the exact same places. You should be arrested for the scam you are running.

Please tell us which implants are the best Oh Enlightened One. Let me guess: Astra! Because that is who you work for this week!

Next week when you work for another implant company.....they will be the best!

Oh really? Where do you (Astra) buy your Ti blocks and what is the companies name?

Kind of like when those Astra implants work until.....EVENTUALLY they flower and break at the connection?

Flowering sounds so pretty...until you are the dentist that has to remove the thing!

Scumbag? So your response to me highlighting your ignorance is to call me names? I'm sure you call me worse after you leave an office I've converted away from you and call me much worse.

I don't work for Astra. Astra doesn't make their own implants- they farm it out.

Ti is not all the same. There are different grades, many different alloys, and different component metals in the alloys. Many companies go cheaper on the alloy to bring prices down. Go talk to your engineering department. However, you may want to bring some help, because I can tell you will have difficulty understanding what they will tell you.

For pete's sake, before you embarrass yourself any more, like I said before- go read up, sonny. Do your homework.
