Would like to hear more info on Cooper as well. I am looking at pursuing a position with this company. I have Womens Health Medical sales experience and know Cooper is a strong player in this market. However, wanting to get more insight on the direction of the company or anything any current sales rep can give insight to. I know I am going to get a lot of BS answers, but would appreciate the good and the bad as long as it is your true opinion of the company.

I would really consider it. They have some really nice products that do not have much competition. I'm an independent now and if I could get the lines it would be a very very nice pick up for me as I have many products that are used in GYN and robotics. The products in my area are sold from a direct rep for Cooper. I talked to her a few weeks ago in the OR and she told me the job was really good overall. Downside was very large territory covering parts of 3 states I think and the car allowance was small almost nothing after taxes but I think she did she did have a company gas card which helps.

Used to work here. It really doesn't matter who you work for, whatever run existed here is over. Mature product line that has expired patents and increased competition in every category. Change in leadership that has resulted in complete failure. Unless your goal is to get into the OR and find a better opportunity, I would pass.

I am a current direct sales Coopersurgical employee of 5 plus years and have enjoyed reading some of these posts. The company tries hard to hire and train you. Sells the promise of 6 figures if you make plan. That is only true if you are 130%+ to plan. Like every company there are good eggs and some bad. The Regional Managers have only their own butts to protect so forget about any real support. Micro management is huge in a few regions but not all.
They've created 4 tiers of reps in the direct business line of clinical sales. OR reps, OB (L&D) reps yet to be hired, Regional specialists (RS) and Territory managers (TM). They likely aren't going to be hiring anymore RS's. The role of the RS having gone through the dubious task of selling the Her Option (a good product, but in a dying market) never sold as it was projected so the reps are either leaving or being shown the door. The tm's, who get a base salary half of what the RS's get, typically sell more in $'s than the RS's but get paid less! You think you would want to get promoted to a RS but then they saddle you with a 5 state territory and you can never make your target they set for you and you get to endure the ire of the regional manager.
The healthcare (IDN) industry has been consolidating for the last 3 years and Cooper being a small manufacturer in a big distributor run industry is trying to position itself as a big player without joining up with the major GPO contract suppliers. It exists in the fringe and expects its reps to land huge multi million dollar IDN accounts selling commodity product lines. My advice, it's going to either be sold in 3 years or have a new VP soon.

I was once told that you can't polish a turd however being a salesman I searched to reach a greater conclusion. After taking the time to soak a turd in polyurethane and many layers later I found a way to in fact polish a turd and make it possible to sell. Sales 101 turd bigger territory greater potential for sales growth. Perhaps gerrymandering of sales districts can help the sales force meet its quota.

also wondering about a company named Incisive Surgical. Was approached by someone about an opportunity, but they seem tiny and not all that sophisticated.

Based on the grammar, spelling, and basic written skills displayed in this thread, I'd say you are all functionally illiterate and severely overpaid. Enjoy it while it lasts. Consider yourself very lucky...for now.

Looks like one of Coopers finest regional managers is chiming in on the café pharma posts!
Functionally illiterate and severely overpaid? Nice job you douche bag! Your idle threat confirms the ilk that passes for some of the middle management at Cooper.
