OCD has sold Therakos to Gores and RhoGAM to Kedrion. There are rumors going around that this now clears thne way for companies like Philips to buy the OCD business from JNJ. Any comments on this ?

The writing appears to be all over walls, the floors, the ceiling...there is the feeling the new GM has been tasked with either re-righting the company from it's visionless, wayward path, or make it attractive enough to be offloaded. The company has stagnated, has offloaded 3 well-known OCD commodities (RhoGam, Veridex, and now Therakos), and there is no definite communication from the top about where they expect to be in the new future. Even the near future.

Maybe some of the visionaries in Rochester have some suggestions as to how to bring the company back to a reasonable healthiness? Sort of the way things were before they arrived (on-loaded ?), and bogged the system down with meaningless and counter-productive "Process" and slide shows ?
The company was once a profitable force in the blood transfusion continuum, ID screening etc.
Now it's just a holding place for emerging (think molt) "leaders" to wait for their next jump up ??
Leaving dirty litter all over the floors.

    Ahhhh !!!
    But let's be fair.
They had a LOT of help from some in Raritan and New Brunswick....
    Credit where credit is due.

Is anyone surprised? JnJ has no leadership, no vision and hasn't for years. "Leaders" like Nick V and before him Roy D milked Therakos for all it was worth. Then OCD sells it off and throws Therakos under the bus. Hopefully this will be a great new start for a company that has huge potential in Crohns disease...oh and I did I mention that it is already wildly profitable.

There is no room for vision in JnJ. It's all replaced driving income to Wall Street. Our 'leaders' get on the executive gravy train by delivering income, not by having vision.

OCD and Therakos are both profitable, but not 'pharma' profitable. JnJ just can't explain an equipment company to the analysts. All our leadership can do is squeeze for more income each year, cut R&D and the sales force until nothing's left.

    au contraire mon frere!!!

    There is plenty of "vision"..
These characters know exactly where they are going.....up and out !!
And that's a major part of the problem long term.
Just look at the genealogy....they and their offspring do very well....

Our "leadership" is more likely to be planning it's next move to more "leadership".. somewhere else.

Well do you really think JNJ gives a crap for OCD or what happens . That is because they don't have a clue of whats going on. Board of Directors WAKE UPPPP!!! JNJ out sourced good JNJ employees , give people high level jobs at JNJ who know nothing about the job and throw money at everything trying to fix the problems. JNJ needs to go back to what worked for JNJ its employees and what they did...

Re: OCD for sale - announced today

... well, it happened. They are exploring strategic alternatives" for the OCD franchise. And everyone in OCD is locked in. Cant bid out to another JNJ company until the process is complete. Nice.

Re: OCD for sale - announced today

Do tell, where is the grass in greener in J&J? Cutting through the spin at the investor call today...

--consumer still cannot get products on the shelf
--we are expecting $800 million in charges for DePuy lawsuits
--Synthes is adding to the top and bottom line, and oh, some cost controls.
-- MD&D outside of Synthes flat or down (you know what that means to the sales force)
-- Pharma OK with some key products

Just where are you thinking of bidding to? Or do you want to stick around so J&J can band your salary and bonus even lower?

If one of the options is to take OCD private or stand-alone, there will probably be employees lining up to get INTO this company.

Veridex, LLC, a Johnson & Johnson company, is an organization dedicated to providing physicians with high-value in vitro diagnostic oncology products. Veridex's products may significantly benefit patients through earlier disease detection and may enable personalized strategies to help improve patient management and outcomes.
