What the hell is wrong with this company? One of my docs told me about the new LUmigan and asked why it was coming out when Xalatan was going generic. I was embarassed and told him it would be new "Lumigan Light" and he said it wasn't going to work and he wouldn't be switching patients and fighting managed care before Xalatan goes L.O.E in March. He promised to still use Combigan but told me he was disgusted by the line extension.

What the hell is Allergan thinking? Are all of us glaucoma reps going to have jobs in March?

OP: Well e-ask that question, I am sure you are an Alcon person trying to dig for info. Lumigan 0.01 will rock, same efficacy, better AE than Travatan, 1st line indication. Lumigan will grow share due to xalatan LOE, Travatan has promoted itself as a me-too to Xalatan for years, while everyone knows Lumigan drops IOP better. Travatan will be in deep trouble. Lumigan 0.01 has done very well in the three markets that have had it before the U.S. It will be fun... by the way watch Novartis drain your R&D budget, and with your already weak R&D pipeline you will not be around in a few years. They did the same thing with Ciba Ophthalmics, years ago.

OKAY- what crap are you smoking to come up with that bit of marketing wizzardtry to get the "old" Lumigan a new life? It's the old trick like any other drug that has gone from a once a day to extended release to some combo drug just to keep the patent going...and why with Lumigan?? The OP hit it on the head- Docs are not going to buy it- (blah blah better IOP) when it does come to a drug that may or maynot work as you say compared to the competition- the cheap competition will win every time. Cost is everything. You can't tell a doc that EVERY patient will benefit from lumigan when they have had experience with Xalantan and it has kicked butt for some of his patients. Cost rules medicine now.......

In regards to jobs- I don't think that Glaucoma drugs will be marketed by reps very much longer- it will be a dying segment of pharma sales......Xalatan will kill the industry-

yes what nitwits are board is! What with new Lumigan we finally have to admit our hyperemia rates to our doctors. We've told them it's not bad and manageable and now we have to admit it was a bad drug for nearly 10 years. Lord, can't wait to get the backlash from Alcon and Pfizer (for the leftover time they have)

i got busted. One of my glaucoma specialists said to me that I had minimized the hyperemia impact for years. He was joking but I could tell he was serious. Dont' think I will get buy in. What happens with X going generic?

I mentioned this to a KOL and he said this was a collasal waste of time with generic latanaprost hitting the market next year. He said patients dictate with cost and only branded PG's would get a trivial piece of the market? Do you think this is true?

Can you hear that? It's the sound of the Eye Care sales force being crushed.

Is this product going to be called Lumigan Light. How do we tell our doctors now that the old product had hyperemia. Jesus H Christ

I don't want to sell Lumigan Light. It's sooooo embarassing coming out 2 years late right before X goes generic and Trav tried to improve their product adding the Z. Jesus Christ is right!

I agree. This is an embarassment to our glaucoma reps. It's a last ditch effort to get a few scripts before X goes generic. My Pfizer rep said he was looking for a job but wouldn't sell on the glaucoma side b/c there was no future in this side. He's looking for anti-infectives

Love all the nervous fake posters here. I am sure they are all alcon losers. Well in both markets where our Lumigan 0.01 is approved we have rocked. Now your "Me-Too selling that you are like Xalatan will kill you. Lumigan is the most efficacious, don't even try to argue agaisnt that. Now we are eual in A.E. if not less than that stinging crap yu call Travatan Z, have you been watching your share go donw the last 8 weeks, now we have Lumigan 0.01!!!!! BY the way Novartis will run you into the ground like they did the Ciba opthalmics division, oh you don't remember Ciba had Oph Drugs, well that is what people will be saying about Alcon with in 3-5 years. They only want your Srugrical stuff. Have fun selling to Primay Care at Novartis :)

i coudn't disagree more. Who is the dipshit that thinks we will sell lots of ANY prostaglandin after Xalatan LOE. It's not TZ fool. We're fighting subsitution of monumental scale. X will be the first ophthalmic agent to go generic of billion dollar proportion. This last post sounds like someone that did not go to college or drinking the Kool Aid in marketing. Mark my words, it will be a bloodbath next Spring for us

hahahahahahahahah- Oh my god-this post made my day. To think there are people in this company that actually think this new formulation is going to work? Keep pulling these idea's out of your ass and lets come up with another brain storm of an idea- Oh wait, here's one- Lets mix's Optive and Lumigan together- You have to be one of those F***in newby 23 year old's that the company picked up off the street to bend over and take what ever they feed you- Have any of you seen those types in the training dept and let alone the marketing team? Please, show up in your 3 series BMW's at the local national meetings driving off together like a bunch of F*** buddies...How about some of the real upper management guru's in some convertible Jag- come on- you all are all for show-

Tell you what? You can have my miserabl job if this 0.01 makes it in the market- It won't and it won't even come close- Good luck though!!!

How are you going to spin quadrupling the bak?

And the pi says up to 7mm reduction, one mm less than travatan z and lumigan. And the pi shows the same hyperemia rates as original lumigan.

Sounds like a winner. Can't wait to sell against this.

talk all the crap you want! Pfizer is done, alcon...go bundle your lenses and try to force docs to write your crappy drugs because that is the only way you get share. As far as xalatan generic goes, let's wait and see. An already watered down drug (just good enough), watered down more by generic companies, I see pressure spikes in the future that will put your crappy durazol to shame. Look at the study that compares branded vs. the generic in india! Laugh all you want. Oh yeah, your second generaton lipid has already proved it sux! Allergan will be launching theirs in the future with injections after that, have fun selling your express shunts, you might need one for your mouth to filter all the crap that is spewing.....don't be a hater! BTW, I live in Texas and plan to ram the .01% straight up ft. worth's ..................Sorry about dropping a "legit" study on you, I know you all in ft. worth are only trained to look at "rabbit studies"! You guys have done more for the advancement of bunnies than any other company! Thanks, my daughter can sleep great at night knowing that drops for her pet will have great penetration. What's next, TZ for dry eyes, with a PH of 5.7 and every single study EXCLUDES dry eye patients, your speakers have a TON of credibility. Do you serve rabbit stew at Dinner Programs? I mean, you must have a lot of them on hand with all of those AWESOME studies!
