There were years when all the retirees were treated at Christmas party at the finest local establishments accros the World along with current employees. Nowdays they give them THE FINGER. Get this: they send yearly $50.00 Christmas bonus check only to one half of retirees to save money. This company has no shame or any human decency at all. Just look at the (alleged but provable) fraud somene report here that took place with two Diovon fake post market trials. After they were censured by Rx&D for it, do you think they showed any shame or regret? No at all. All they did changed their illegal ways to much harder to prove and collect evidence. One day when the public at large gets to see who they really are one wonders what their PR position would be? That day is approaching very soon judging by what is going on in the biz.
There is no point in saying, "Shame on you Novartis for what you have done to your employees of any senority and your retirees", for it would be like telling Don Chery to be ashamed with that gaudy outfits he wears everywhere even at Torornto City Hall the other day. We in Montreal had the laugh of our lives. No one is laughing at gaudy Novartis located in Dorval.

it's true some retirees did not it get that grand total of $50 bonus this year either. now it could be this co is sending this money selectively or to certain retirees from year to year or even everyone is supposed to get it but someone along the chain of employees who handle this, maybe pocketing this for themselves. if you consider that this is a company of employees who defrauded our people so many times and for so many millions, why not pocket few $50 Amex checks to get your own enhanced christmas bonus. you say impossible? not at all, the checks are issued as cash to bearer. It is as good as cash.
Defrauding few of needy retirees would not trigger any guilty feelings to these hardened criminals.
    how low can they go?

The latest appointment with top dog* has been canceled again as per pattern seen for the last 5 years. Imagine the retires rep could not get to see anyone from Dorval's office for at least 5 years re some issues including badly needed updates allready done for Swiss and USA retires. Every appointment was canceled withour rebooking. Same goes on.The poor rep keeps trying and will do it till the last pension deposit. Dorval hopes no one will be up to the task after.

As I watch Egypt and victory of the people power, got an idea. The Novartis suffering retires who live in Montreal could join forces and start the demonstration in front of Novartis HQ in Dorval. Come with banners denouncing this heartless company and state your case of being so much behind the others financially while the management of this company conducts the orgy of plundering our health care system by using all kinds of illegal and unethical business practices. Of course the managemet is awash in bonuses and high saleries and they also pay the employees quite well although they deserve much more of that loot they help extract from our taxpayers.
This demostration can be started in Montreal with local retires and one is sure that many others from other parts of the country would join at least on occasion.
Imagine what would happen when this is shown on local TV and printed in Montreal papers. All of the sudden Novartis that presents a picture of perfect and responsible corporate citizen, would look much worse than Mubarak himself.
Believe it, it could be done and would be successful within days of first demonstration in front of their fancy building built with that looted monies they took from us over the years.
This company can not afford to be in the public eye as a corporation that does not care about its retires. They have too much to hide so any negative publicity is non-negotiable.
So do it. This company is so rich that no one has any idea how much they have taken in this country and around the world. You the long suffering retires have contributed so much and they have forgotten you almost completely and at first opportunity they will deprive you of the benefits you are on today. That is coming for sure but if you rise your voice this will not happen. Remeber all and every institution will be afraid of people power from now on. It is up to you to use it to get what you deserve and need.
People in Egypt risked life and limb for democracy and justice. All you'll "risk" is few hours of your plentifull free time. And you'll have fun too meeting your fellow retires sufferers.
So let's unite and do it.

There is a group of Novartis pensioners, I believe in Toronto that meets at least twice a year. The topic of fair treatment of retires is always on and on and on. They keep deluding themselves that something will be done by this nasty company. It will not during the lifetime of most curent retires. Unless they do something like suggested to go and demonstrate in front of their HQ in Dorval. They must take their gloves off and confront the evil and deal with it as it should be done. What have they to lose? Nothing.
What the leaders will do go ahead and beg for that "appointment" with the current CEO who will give it to them, then cancel it without rebooking and pass it on to the next one. And so on and so on. You are dealing with liers, cheaters, defrauders, manipulators and simply people who betrayed everyone and everything decent. Just look at CP Novartis USA where their reps are not afraid to post the truth about this Co. and shake your heads in disbelief.
How low this Co has follen and it still has not hit the bottom.

This is not fair to this Co. Yes they cheat steal and lie but they are basically good people. Look how well they treat their big boss in Basel, over $30.000.000.00 per year. Ain't that nice, so don't bitch. Besides it is the gov't of Canada that is to balme. They give you such generous CPP and OAS that there is no need for adjusting your Novartis pension. On top you get regula increases of these two that amount to unprecedented 0.5% per year.
So just STFU and wait to end it.

THEY GOT IT! Again! The appointment agreed upon and booked was AGAIN canceled few days before the time agreed upon. Tom Rossi with whom the appt was made is leaving now and is the 4th CEO who betrayed this group and lied to as usually. Whoever is coming to continue the nasty work of this co will have done the same as he will be briefed on the successful formula to lie to and disrespect those who have cntributed to the success and wealth of this company. Many of them did what you the current employees do, lie, cheat, bribe and do anything legal and illegal under orders to make this co even richer with money that it does not deserve in spite of "saving" peoples' lives for profit.
However there is such thing as KARMA and some day someone will use that evidence on nasty work done for decades that exist out there and walk into appropriate office and do the right thing. You reading this. if you have any decency left, look for and collect the evidence for one day it will come in handy for you both to save your ass and to do the right thing. The new law is coming to fight cos like this one and you who will have the evidence will be part of that KARMA that must and will happen. No one who does what this co does must be allowed to get away for ever. Enough is enough.

You are not the only one being treated badly. Your friends south of your border had just had $280.000.000.00 stolen from their pension funds. Novartis US by using financial machinations, they learned for the Wall St types, stole this monies from the pensioners in that country. So be happy they still throw few $$ at you so you can survive while the bosses in NJ and Basel and elsewhere continue their orgy of taking your $$ for their personal gains beyond what is humanly accetable in civilized societies.
Frankly they dont give a shit about you or anyone including those sick that they claim they are in business to save from diseases and early death. All they care about their profits, returns on investments for shareholders and their personal loot. Yes you hitched your wagon to the right train, gave them your best and all and this is your reward.
What is even sader that the new generations which includes your children, will do even worse with these bastards holding the power over them, they abuse. The big pension fund robery done this time is a good indication and ominus sign for all.
Will they take it like pussies or will they stand up for their rights and for themselves like human beings?

That is right they are meeting in TO and soon they will meet again, poor bastards. What is known they mainly chew the fat over and over and their main topic is; how to get some more chicken bones from their former tormentor for whose account they cheated, stolen, lied, broke Canadian laws and things like that to make sure that the Co was growing and sending as much ill gotten loot as humanly possible to their masters in Basel.

Here we go again. The third or fourth CEO of Novartis that would not see the reps of behind-the-Swiss pensioners, the Canadian ones. Everyone in Swisstzerland and USA has been updated as far as consumer price index rate is concerned, but the Canadian pensioners.
Now these poor bastards have another CEO to deal (or not to deal) with. He is Raid Sharif (?) who no one ever heard of. On this note, why is Novartis Canada having a revolving door policy for their CEO's? Most likely they are installed as the lackey, pawn, instrument, tool, flunky for their murky policies they practice in this Country. You have read about this elsewhere and are aware about the illegal and unethical practices this Co uses routinely to enrich itself, management and it's stockholders, but not employees and certainly not to keep their retirees current in terms of cost of living etc..
You see when CEO comes in, he (it's never she with Novartis) knows the score as far as using that illegal stuff, but for him to keep his distance from it and have that "buffer" he can not stay more than 1-2 years. If he did and something happens, say somene takes the evidence to RCMP or local police for their investigation and prosecution (by the way this never happens but just in case) he could not use this "buffer" as an excuse for saying "I did not know anything about it". So the short tour of duty in Canada assures CEO to stay isolated from the misconduct he approves and even orders done. while the other protagonists (like product managers, marketing guys, reps etc) would be exposed to legal action if the evidence were strong etc. Again this has not happened yet but their lawyers know this is a good thing to do and it works for them. If it happened (even miracles are possible) the Basel HQ would provide all the money needed for everyone to get off easy. Just as in case of Rx@D infractions and fines, some get a slapt on their fingers (for PR benefit) but everyone is OK and they are soon back doing the same thing.
So you see there is money for anyone and everything Novartis and their wiseguys need but not for the old wisepeople who put this Co. (regardless how it turned out, they did not work for is per se) on the map and made it one of the most successful and now the "heartlessest" of them all.
Let's watch if Mr. Sherif, book an appointment and cancels it few days before, as the last few did.

Well things are not that bad. All of you (actually some will not as punishment) will get your most exciting, annual gratitude of this multi-billion-zillion company, your Christmas bonus. Yes you can look forward with maximum gratitude and longing and love towards this super-duper rich company to sacrify significan amount of their mostly ill-acquired take and give you that all year anticipated and waited for Christmas bnus.
Yes folks you are in for usual annual excitement that comes with getting such a wonderful and worthy gift as the Christmas bonus given so generously and unselfishly by your former employer for whom you gave all you got and beyone. For whom you, on top of your honest hard work, had to cheat, lie, steal, defraud, bribe, conduct illegal trials and many more illegal and unethical practices under orders to do or else.
Yes that time has come as usually around this time and you will be recipient of this wonderful and worthy Christmas gift at any time now. Friendly worning for those who suffer from any hearth (you do have a heart unlike them) ailments to please take it easy with your excitment once the envelope comes in. Have someone else open it for you, slowly introduce the content and then you can enjoy it as you do every year.
Enjoy your Christmas bonus from your super-rich (good deal thanks to you) Swiss based and infested all over the World, former employer Novartis AG in the grand amount of $50.00 as every year.
Make it last till next time, many do for they simply can't spend it.

They will meet this month of April (how foolish but appropriate for this month) again to go over same things as they do every meeting. Those who lead them and strugle for the cause will again report that their appointment with the Dorval CEO has been canacelled as per usually giving them some BS reason, as usually. How shameful behaviour by one of the ostensibly leading bigpharma cos in the World not only in insignifican market of Canada. Maybe that is why these poor victims are treated like this. Who would care about a country's pensioners where there is an all out war against them all not just the Novartis ones.
Instead of getting together to waste their limited time, make a decision to get tough with this cruel and nasty corporation. Designe some kind of approach that would be detrimental on any aspect of this co's comfortable fleesing of our health care system. For instance many of the pensioners know and have evidence of their x co's illegal activities. Many did implement their illegal and unetical promotional plans under orders but knew they were doing the illegal. So why not get these incriminating and irrefutable things together and make a subtle "suggestion" that lawyers would be hired to take class action against the co for ordering them to do illegal work on Co behalf. All pensioners are all guilt ridden to this day and only significan compensation in regular and dicent pension adjustments would relieve this guilt. After all everything in our culture has a price and they would be willing to forget and forgive for the right price.
What have they got to lose? Nothing but the shame of being treated like trash.

Yup. New meeting same old story. Four long years later they still are looking for that meeting with by now 4th CEO since they had an appointment and all made but cancelled just before the date. Now they have CEO by the name Riad Sherif. Good luck with this guy. If the previous ones with closer ties with them did not do it, how can they expect someone like this one do it for them. He will probably move their customer service and maybe even secretarial service overseas to work for pennies per hour all hours of the day.
Till they do something that really counts as suggested and get them over the barrel with threat to expose their nasty, illegal ways nothing would happen.
So much incriminating evidence and knowledge wasted instead used against these seasoned crooks. No wonder they are laughing at poor bastards and playing them like fools.
    Maybe they deserve it.

we are at least 45% behind at this time and no indications this super rich co will do anything to help us. we are left to our own devices. then why don't those who got the evidence come forward and take it to police. why not?nothig wrong with that. they are hurting us, patients, public, emloyees, envitonment and who knows who and what else. so if we hurt them by exposing them to law we do the right thing as citizens and nothing will change,. you'll get your pansion worth 55% anyway even if this fucking co went under. which they will never for they stole enough for eternity. thanks to you who have the evidence they keep stealing and not looking after us anyway. come on show some guts and initiative. when you were acting on their orders to steal, lie, bribe etc for them you did. Why not now, you got nothing to lose.

Good news for Novartis pensioners everywhere, maybe. This no good SOB company has been ranked as #1 by sales, in the World. 51.3 billions in sales last year and growing. It has pulled ahead another bad one Pfizer that ranks #1 in criminal charges and fines in USA at well over $2.5 billions in fines. Your Co is about 5-6th in criminal charges and fines at close to $1 billion so far.
Well what does it mean for you., poor undercompensated pensioner of this no good SOB company. Will they throw a chicken bone your way so you can keep up with inflatiion at least? Doubt it but even miracles are possible.
Now what do you think this $53.1billion in sales consists of? Meaning how much it comes from using legit business practices and how much from using the illegal, criminal, unethical and immoral practices? You don't believe that all these billions come from being nice to patients, goverments and people around the world where they operate their bigpharmafia biz. Of course no. This co has been a leading member of pharmafia for at least , since they took on the name Novartis, meaning new way of doing business, meaning new way of using legal and illegal practices in a bland that makes it look just like any completely legal practice in doing business. Read this again if you did not get it first. It is important for everyone to understand that Novartis has invented the use of combined practice that includes BOTH legal and criminal, which renders this practice (business model) far more effective than using only one kind of practice separately. Two plus two becomes five in this business approach if you can call this. we call it simply mafia style of doing biz. With their practice of OMERTA and your keeping your mouth shut, they are very unlikely to get caught and exposed in canada that cuddles organized corporate criminals as if they were the most honest and socially responsible corporate citizens.
Now the answer to that key question: most conservative estimate would put the split 60% legit 40% illegal out of that 51.3 billions in sales. Now if only they would use some of that ill-equired wealth to throw few chicken bones your way. One would figure it would not cost them much considering it came so easy (criminal money always is an easy money). BUT they would not be bigpharmafiosi if they did not keep EVERYTHING.
    Keep hoping till the end.

    Good news, bad news:
Q2 net profit for Novartis worldwide $2.700.000.000.00. Yes that is billions and again the key question; how much of that was made by using legal, ethical and moral practices and how much was made by using their criminal, unetical and immoral practices they developed over decades to the level of pure (criminal) art form.
For you abandoned retirees there will be nothing again and you continue with your useless meetings and promises of appointments with the current CEO. He does not give a shit who you are, what you are and what you feel or think. You had your usefulness when you did the crime for them under orders that never gave you a direct order to do it. It was always wrapped into nice package that even the most honest of you could not decipher which is crime and which is not. And that is the art form for using crime as legit practice to make those outrageous profits on the backs of world's sick and not ( if you forgot pushing your drugs beyond indications is a crime both financial and medical for you are convicing doctors to use your drug even on healthy people let alone sick who need a specific approved drug for the sickness they have).
If you want to do something useful, find a way to make them share some of this ill-acquired loot with you not only those close to Basel HQ. Let's wait to see how much "Dr" Weasella will weasel out this time.

I worked for Novartis 18 years. Since they closed down the facility where I worked and severed all employees 14 years ago, I've worked elsewhere. Now that I'm approaching retirement age, I've contacted them for a statement of my pension benefits. Guess what? They've never heard of me and have no record of me. It turns out my ex coworkers had the same treatment. It's standard procedure. You have to practically sue them to get your pension payments.
