Arms Job opening with ENZON?

I have been reading the posts on this site and want to know if its really as bad a place as all the posts here say? I got a call from a recruiter about a job here and I am curious about the "real" bonus potential, work environment (treat you like adults or micromanagement), company car choices and number of reps in the field? Only serious responses from current employees please.

thanks

Dont bother reading these posts. They are mostly from people that havent worked for us in years and arent adult enough to move on.

The second post is typical enzon management. Can not/will not answer your question. Well, you got your answer and it seems clear to stay clear of this tiny pharma company constantly on the brink of disaster.

Why not read the financials of the company and notice that there is enough blame to go around. So my suggestion is to do your research and make an informed decision. With regard to former employees they do come back to tell us how they feel and with good reason. Many took jobs here based on recruiters and the truth was left behind. Most found out until it was too late that drugs here are horrible, management is worse, and this place is bordering on dismal financials.

But here is the truth:

Benefits are horrible
Stock is worthless and moves sideways to back
Turnover is incredible and above industry standards
Enzon on your resume will not serve you well in the future
Parnoid and uneducated management
Recent layoffs and downsizing

All those truths can be easily verified if you ask the right people the right questions or research the company. True this board has many malcontents. True this board has management trying to defend poor decisions.

Be wise, and do your due dilligence. Ask present reps if they had to do it all over again would they join Enzon. Most would say NO.

Best of luck!

I really appreciate your honesty. Thanks. The small biotech company I currently work for is getting ready to go through layoffs in 2 months. I may be safe when it is all said and done though. However if I am not I will get another 90 days of pay, benefits, stock vesting, Q1 bonus & retention bonus. I just need to keep my options open if I get cut and did not want to pass up a descent job being overconfident with my current situation. How many reps and whats the deal with your benefits? I have a family so that would be very important.

If you need a job, this place is nothing more than a bridge to finding something better. The benefits are through Great West. Don't even bother looking them up since most providers are not on their list. It is a crappy health plan with large expense per pay period but it is better than nothing. Believe me that this is not a retention tool at all!

Layoffs have come and gone. They merged oncology and hospital, and if you were in a territory where two existed, the one either perceived as negative or the newbie got two months salary and a nice good bye note on their blackberry from Vincenza before it was turned off. Nice parting, huh?

So you probably are looking at a back filled position. If you need it, do it. Otherwise, every other place is better than here. Trust me when I say EVERYONE is looking! But as pointed out earlier, having this place on your resume scares anyone in the industry. It is a hell hole and it is for sale!

Do not trust Vincenza, Charles, Alan or David if you have to go to the home office to meet these people in the interview process. Be nice, smile and tell them how impressed you are with the company. In the end, it is only a job and not a career at Enzon.

The real child is the one that stays at Enzon, or drinks the Kool Aid. Look how an asset management company just strong-armed Bucky into giving a seat on the board yesterday to 'maximize shareholder equity' Does that mean anything to your micro-brain?

Hey smartass, time for you to read what is on the walls what everyone that left knew well in advance - this place is sinking faster than the Titanic. Oh, I forgot, you are going to wait for more wonderful earnings news on how ABLC is dying and the non-existent pipeline will fill that gap.

You must be in Bridgewater. This is the only Pharma Company caught up in a sub-prime mess!

Earnings report today. Any bets on how much we lost on ABLC?

Vinny, great job!

Year end summary 2007 - Swing to profit!

Reduced selling costs = massive layoffs last year
Reduced debt = sold off royalities of peg-intron for 93 million
Increased sales over last year = made 2 million more which is a fraction of a fraction and did not meet expectations

Sum total - Wake up folks! A fifth grader can juggle the books!

Could someone who actually works here answer the question? What is the real bonus bonus potential? Car? Work environment? Thanks.

Dude, only a handful make bonus because Abelcet is losing marketshare every quarter. The bonus is capped, so no need to think you are in for big bucks. And bonus is not paid on time! Everyone is now responsible for this dog as both oncology and hospital have been combined due to consolidation (nice way of saying lay-offs)

Car is GE fleet. Nice cars, but you do not join a company for a car. his is stupid because a car is a car and you do not own it so it is moot. But I should caution you that since so many have left, or laid off, you are probably going to get a used car.

Work environment depends on your manager. Most are elevated from the field (only a handful left) since most have departed or were managed out due to the Bridgewater Mafia. The directors here stink and the managers are the buffer. But once they make a suggestion, they are labeled as negative too. It really is a sad situation here. If you need a job, take it and continue to look but keep your mouth shut. If you like it here, more power to you.

I noticed an opening in Seattle and one in San Francisco today on your website. I know this site is for bitching but can anyone shed some light as to why both of these positions are open? Was it promotions? Did the people get better jobs? Or, is management bad out west?

Thank you!

What reaaly happened to Dracula in San Francisco? Did he leave or was he fired?
As for Seattle, what can you say about a company who demotes the mgr. for lack of brains and then several months later after F-King the old rep who built that territory(NOT CHUCKIE) then gets rehired as mgr. for incresed lack of brains.
Go gettum Bucky, you are a true inspiration to us all.
Before long, Chuckie wil have you're job if all goes right with his 10 year plan.

Are you unemployed for the past couple of years? Got no one who is willing to provide a reference for you on your resume? Willing to stay home collecting a paycheck? Severance package from your last gig about to run out?

Call Sean Fitmorris. He will get you a job here.

Gregg in SF could not run for cover after Price finally left. No one to protect him from not working and trying to hide all the time like Dracula.

Sean in Seattle got promoted back to mgr. Can you believe this guy was demoted and stuck around to get re-promoted? He must have been sucking Vinny's dick! Now he can hire back the guy he canned when he got demoted back to the field. Sean is a loser and was worthless at AZ. No wonder he is at Enzon trying to build a mudhouse out of turd products!

This place should soon be sold, sliced up, and everyone that thought they were protected out on the street selling apples!

Stay away from this company, Horace and his girl are gone and soon so will I. Hell I got an ex baller's house in NC, I am set. Besides it's get's cold enough here for me to wear my fur.
