Until April 1st. Then it will only be promoted to hospitals and treatment centers. No more promotion or samples after that date for PCPs or private practice psychiatrists.

Campral sucks, BTW.

My office based specialty rep said they are going to carry samples but not get paid on it in IM and psych

i am a specialty rep, i'm ranked rather high in campral right now. campral's focus is being shifted to the in-patient facility. the hospital reps will be making the calls from this point on. the amount of business campral generated in the out-patient form was insignificant compared to the in-patient setting. most addiction psych's worked treated addiction at in-patient facilities and even though the specialty reps were making the sales the prescription reward would go to the hospital rep. although we were paid on everthing written in our zip code that does not count the in house pharmacys at hospitals and treatment centers.

to be honest with you, i think it's a way to free up our time and concentrate on lexapro and namenda.

Honestly, this makes the most sense. This drug is an easy sell for inpatient--no contraindications or drug/drug interactions, it's fairly cheap, easy to Rx. It's hard to follow these patients once they move to the outpatient setting though. The dosing makes it hard to stick with in outpatient too.

I think we found where it fits in treatment: Step 1) inpatient detox and withdrawal management, Step 2) Add Campral to ease cravings, Step 3) Stick with it as long as you can in outpatient, let therapy take over.

I have never seen a drug disappear so quickly, especially considering it has years left on the patent!

Am I the only one that doesn't even mention Campral anymore? I don't really miss it.

Now that it's completely gone from my bag, I'll admit, Campral sucks. To think that anyone in history has ever made it through a single month without missing a dose is a fantasy.

How about the old, "just let 'em take 2 doc, that should be enough to work." Bullshit! Even if they did take all 3 doses, everyday, for a whole month, the drug doesn't do shit. I'm glad to have that stone off my neck--already blowing out Namenda.

Google "placebo."

This will help you understand the effect you're describing.

I've always been looking for a niche for this product. I have had great success promoting it for the homeless since they are out on the streets and who knows what they could be doing at any given time. This way at least if they do try to get some mad dog 20/20 they will get violently ill. Keeps them out of trouble, ya know?

I was speaking with a physician about this patient type and he was VERY interested! He wanted to know how many homeless people I thought he saw, how they would pay for the medication, etc. Seemed very interested in it.

Anyways, I hope this helps yall out.

Thumbs down Re: DID YOU GUYS STOP PROMOTING CAMPRAL?

2 Pills TID, eh?
Sounds like you got the dosing and the lingo down pat!

But all things considered, the odds are far greater that you rep the drug vs.being a TRUE Campral patient.

That...and the odds of it working...yeah not so much.

I have been a Derm Rep for 5 years which explains the problem with alcohol.
I would sell the shit out of this product on personal experience alone. I don't work for Forest or any other big Pharma company. The product works great for me. I never forget to take it because of this fact. If they could work on the dosing it would be even better.

Campral patient

$100 dollars says the 2 bozos who made the pro-Campral posts work in marketing at Forest.

There's 2 guys left selling this piece of shit, and they both work in the home office, sending out monthly mail kits and making occasional "guerilla marketing" posts on Cafe Pharma. Dorks.

Try Topamax. My dr tried to give me a rx of Campral but I asked to try topamax instead.

The topamax has worked very well for me and my cravings, plus I've lost weight. Good luck.

forest has a third party tele-sales force to promote and call on docs who are high ALC potential or were at one point Rxing campral

they will be the point of contact for the med, samples, questions, detailing, etc.

and to the derm rep, this product sukked, no one refilled their meds and everyone expected a miracle pill, 250 specialty reps not being able to sell this drug was sign enough for forest to pull it from our bag, you would have done no better or different, and derm, can you say no managed care or access issues?

This drug allowed me to detox off of alcohol and 45 mg oxi 3xdaily with no physical withdraws. Though I weaned from ox over 6 days , last dose of 10 mg on day 6. I hadn't had a drink since day 2.

I don't need it any more, but I need something better to take the edge off, until I get my ass with a sponsor and get passed step 3.

I would use It again, and might start using the 100's I have stockpiled as directed. 3x a day.

Any better suggestions. I'm a.d.d mild depressed bipolar so also take small nightly serequel and aderall as needed( usually 1/3 my dosage).

I have drank 1 alcohol drine since oct 2008. : ). Smiling cause I didn't like the drink at all and valued my sobriety time more than I ever expected.

Any suggestions on changing or adding/deleting aderall seroquel or the camprall???
