IF YOU'RE SICK OF WAITING, READ THIS - IT MAY HELP
Two things (bare with me):
1) For the last few years that my grandmother was alive, my family had to sit back and WAIT in agony while we saw her mind deteriorate from Alzheimer's. It was rough not only for her, but it was miserable for my family. It truly tested the patience and strength of all of us. When she did finally die LAST FALL, it was a great relief for everyone. I wasn't able to attend the funeral, but, like everyone else in my family, I did get a prayer card with her name, DOB, and DOD (date of death) on it.
2) THREE YEARS AGO, I was in a "waiting" situation similar to the one that we are all going through right now with Project Impact. My life was on hold and moving on someone else's slow clock. My patience had worn thin. I was irritable and ancy. I wanted to call eveyone I knew involved in my situation every minute of every hour to get some answers and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN FOR MYSELF (!!!).
Now, I'm by no means fanatical about religion, but I do believe in God, and throughout my life I have turned to the Bible for answers when it seems that I have no one or nowhere else to go. I was RANDOMLY flipping through the Bible one night during those trying times and found a passage about a guy named Saul and his struggle with impatience. After reading the passage, I couldn't help but feel like someone was trying to tell me to calm down, be patient, and just have faith. It really helped to put my mind at ease. I prayed about things after reading that passage, and, I'm not lying, the next day things started moving for me. The wait was finally over. Sure enough things have really worked out for the best (this Project Impact stuff is just a bump in the road in comparison). Nevertheless, I've always remembered that passage.
Ready for this...
So anyways, today I was looking through my Bible trying to find that passage to share it here on CafePharma in hopes that it may help to put some people's minds at ease. I couldn't remember many details about the passage. All I remembered was the name Saul. I looked up the name in the index and ended up finding the passage.
Get this though...if I would have just turned to my grandmother's death/prayer card that I had stuck in my Bible, I would have opened right to the same passage about Saul's impatience. Imagine that...of all the thousands of pages in the Bible.
I'm not trying to shove religion or anything down anyone's throat here. All I'm saying is "just be patient." I know it's cliche, but I believe everything happens for a reason... even the waiting part.
BTW - the passage is 1 Samuel 13: 8-12

OP, good post! Thanks for sharing. Pretty ironic about that passage from the Bible. I'm not a religious fanatic either but I do think the bible is interesting and a valuable piece of litereature. I'm going to look up that passage.

Thank you for your heartfelt expression to us!! If more people would consult the bible they would find that there is no problem that isn't covered in those pages. Another great resource for listening is Woodrow Krull. He can be found at backtothebible.org. He has a great talk radio program and has everything he has talked about on the radio on CD's to purchase. Wonderful stuff! I just bought his Revelation series. I have learned so much. It is amazing how a bible study can comfort me. This is all just a bunch of "stuff" that will not last and will not matter after a while.
Again, thank you for your effort!
