Banghead It's easier to get a job while you're employed!!!

Why is it that companies pass your resume up when you are layed off but are eager to grab you while you are working. I passed up an opportunity thinking I would stay on board and now I'm f@#$%d!

Hang in there Sparky..........get out there and market yourself like the awesome person you are and know that when you get an interview you're the best person for the job. Companies don't care of you're not working, they will find the best candidate, you just need to tell them it's YOU.

You learned an important lesson. Maybe you can take comfort in the fact that a lot of others are in the same boat.

Good luck...

Companies pass up on people, whether they are employed or not because they do not know how to complie a good CV. Most people are still using a resume', which is dumb. Also companies currently do not care if you have a job or not, as they will not hire anyone and pay them what they need to make.I have been actively looking for over three years, and have gotten zero calls or inteviews. I know I"m better than most people out there, and have a stronger work ethics than 99% of my 'co-workers" if you want to call them that. I have a feeling though, I won't get a call back from anyone because I don't fit the bill to work anywhere. I"m not one of colored decent, I"m not a female, and I don't lay down with someone of the same sex. So therefore, I will not be working for a long time. Oh well, I can hold my head up higher than all of you, because I"m at least honest with myself, and will not sell my soul for the Corporate Whores.

And you also have a bad attitude? I'm not saying that your statements are off but I also see major malcontent in your post. I just got a job but had to settle for something that payed less. I knew that in order to work I had to. You can get a job my friend I think your problem is you think you DESERVE to have the best. Reality check they aren't out there like they use to be.

Let's not let this thread get derailed.

Many people do not present themselves in the best light because of poorly written resumes (look at the number of typos in this thread alone), lack of clearly stated career goals, inability to work with recruiters, little attention given to interview preparation, etc.

I am a former pharma rep who co-wrote this book with my sister, a former recruiter:
www.pharmajobguide.com .

It's an instant download e-book with tons of information and live links to recruiters, career websites, and the like. It's way cheaper than a resume service and might give you some ideas you haven't thought of yet.

Best of luck to you who are still looking. There are good jobs out there, but the competition is heightened to get them.
