Message from the Exjade Brand Team
Dear Exjade Reps, please feel free to take the summer off. We understand that the lack of reliable and timely physician level data makes an already difficult job pert near impossible. Enjoy your summers and we'll try again in 2013. Everyone will get their remaining 2012 bonus paid outs at 100% since we realize that there is no way for you to run your businesses effectively. Those of us responsible for this SNAFU will all be receiving a 1 rating for our performance or lack there of, however the bottom 10% of Exjade Reps will not get a 1 because our legal department says that would just expose us to yet another lawsuit. Sorry for the screw-up. Heads will roll.
Sincerely
The Exjade Brand Team

Re: Message from the Exjade Brand Team
The OP nailed it! I've been lucky enough to enjoy a little success over the last 2 years with Exjade. What was my secrete? Looking at the EPASS Report every 2 weeks and following up with the new applications. Occasionally I'd identify an under dosed patient and go in and bump the dose. That's it! That kept me in the top 20 for two years running. Now I'm screwed. I have a large territory so there is no way to know when a new patient goes on drug unless you happen to be in that area and happen to see someone within the account that remembers a patient start Exjade recently.
Allowing these contracts to expire is UNFORGIVABLE. What could the Brand Team possibly be doing? It's not like they've been cranking out anything useful in way of materials.
This sucks! I'd really like to ride Novartis out a little longer and see if some of the other targeted therapies come to market but IDK, there are plenty of other opportunities out there. Two of my counterparts are heading elsewhere after the June commission. I thought they were nuts but now maybe it's worth a shot. If I had Afinitor I'd be more willing to stay but Hem seems dead.
What do other Exjade Reps think? I'm sure I'm not alone feeling like this.

Re: Message from the Exjade Brand Team
Please, the biggest reason patients stop taking Exjade is from GI side effects which can be almost eliminated if the drug is dispersed properly, hence the mixing cups and reps in the field to educate!

Many of those end up in the hands of the fat nurses or office cows which they use to mix their lard daiquiris on the weekends

wah wah wah - they don't mix their medicine? - wait, wait, wait for it...you blame the Reps for not teaching RNs? or do you blame RNs for not teaching the patients...or is it the patients parents that aren't educated?
Those mixing cups are taken home by the office staff as toys for their kids - but mixing cups don't matter anyway because - it's the Reps fault. wah wah wah
Brand Team blows.

Hahahahahah yeah you right...the Brand Team blows anyway - who is worse? The Reps that don't teach or the parents that don't care what the RN tells them? Of course the Brand Team blames the Reps. because the Reps aren't scanning their reports every 2 days for shipment issues...yeah..I get it.

Re: Message from the Exjade Brand Team
Very few patients ever stay on more than a month or two. Reps aren't at fault because they don't tell the MDs and RNs how to mix it. It's not the office staff's fault because they don't teach the patient's how to take it. It's not the care giver or the patient's fault either. It's the Brand Team's lame ass arrogance to blame somebody else.
Let me tell you Brand Team - those reports aren't used to keep patients on product - like you tell us - it's just a tool for you to generate activity for your and my Manager's benefit. Not once in 8 years promoting this POS have those documents done anything meaningful for the amount of time I've spent on them. They're useful in telling me who is a writer or not - but not much else.
Nobody cares for the patient. You Brand people go from product to product. All you care about is the next rung on the ladder. Which one of you on the Brand Team would die to keep your position because you have so much concern for the patients? Which one of you spend your Friday nights trying to determine how to keep patient's IO get lower? Which one of you stopped your party on a weekend or lost sleep over any IO patient? You don't give a shit - quit trying to blow smoke up our ass.
You all will jump ship at the first opportunity.
All you want is to get off the IO train wreck and get with a "real" product - one you can show Management how good you are and maybe, ... just maybe become head of the product team...oooooohhh ahhh
I laugh when I hear "winning for the patient", "patient first" or the "Power of 3" - it's numbers, numbers, numbers, mumbers, mumbles mumbles blah blah bla

Re: Message from the Exjade Brand Team
I'm hanging on by a thread. I've interviewed with 2the other start-up Onc companies and have gotten offers from both. I've been in Onc for over 15 years so I've got actual relationships. Still think Novartis is the safe bet but all this CIA BS is wearing on me.
