I know a few offers in GA and TX have gone out, just wondering if more than 1 person was sent to meet the RD? The waiting game is a difficult one!

Just 1

Was told by rd that they provide feedback from the interview to the dm, and tht ultimately the choice comes down to the dm

If only 1 candidate was sent to the Vivus RD and the RD says the decision is with the hiring DM that picked you to meet with the RD,then wouldn't you think that if you made it to the RD stage that unless you totally said something stupid you will get an offer?

Thats the thought, but why get excited until you see something in writing,

Lesson number one in sales, it's it official until its in writing

Grumble Re: RD Interview

Hate to say it but if you don't get full endorsement from RD the manager is calling back second choice reps. I am in SC and did not get rd interview in Charlotte but was told.by recruiter that.I was the.second choice. Recruiter called me yesterday after 5pm and asked me if I could fly out Thursday to meet RD. Told There.is noway background ck was completed in 2 days. I told her yes but having second thoughts. I have something els in works and another interview Mondaythat pays more. Thinking that is why offers didn't go out immediately to most. They are hedging bets looking for better candidates. Don't like their way of doing business.

Interesting. You are smart to have second thoughts. For whatever reason, this company is cocky enough to think people are just scrambling to come work here.?.? It's a contract, and most likely a buy out in less than a year. I'd invest in your other opportunities.

More than likely the first choice candidate turned the job down and that is why they are going to you as the second choice.

I went to the RD interview as well and I was waiting on an offer but I think those who have posted about others being interviewed later is correct. They can handle the process anyway they chose but to not reimburse people for mileage and meals is ridiculous. Probably the warning sign that should keep reps with jobs away.

If I recall, when I looked at the SC map they showed during the iv, there were 4 full SC territories, maybe 1 that spilled over from NC to include both SC & NC.
Florence/MB
Charleston
Columbia
S'burg/G'ville

What time frame did the RD give you to expect an offer?

Maybe the trip to the RD is like the principal's office. Need a quality check.

I looked at the total jobs on the PDI website Sat morning and the number was 204 and today the total number is still 184 so it looks like offers are going out but not very quickly when you consider the interviews started over 3 weeks ago?

Offers are going out, but people are turning them down. So they are moving down the list of candidates.

Got my offer yesterday and I accepted.

There are risks associated with this job, but the potential to be successful and actually grow a brand from day one is HUGE!

These assholes at Vivus have made people jump through every hoop possible for this contract, I hope this thing blows up in their f....king face! Sorry for the reps but you will never get rolled into Vivus, if the drug does well big pharma will buy up Vivus if drug tanks then that will be that so this was never going to be more than a one year gig regardless.

I think that is why you might not get the job. The Vivus managers are hiring to worthless reps from Takeda. Just ask Somaxon how hiring ex takeda people worked out for them. Most of them are now at the flop that is Horizon pharma.

Thanks.

No doubt it is going to be tough to launch without samples and general pharmacy backing.... But actually looking forward to the challenge.

I had been selling the same type of products for the last eight years and needed a change. Will still be calling on the same docs, just have something different to talk about.

It's refreshing actually....

I know it will be challenging, but at this point I welcome it.

Good luck to you too

Does anyone know who got the Baltimore MD position. 3 of us interviewed in CHarlotte. No one was moved on to the next step. We awere all told that " They went with the other candidiate"
Between the three of us, there was alot of talent, age, and diversity. One of us should have gotten it

Anythoughts???

First of all - you probably made too much money. I was told the day before the interview not to feel bad if I didn't get an offer and the day of the interview I was asked which manager had recommended me for the job. (Didn't have a connection). Face facts we were used as window dressing to impress the Vivus managers that PDI could come up with such a talented and experienced pool of professionals. And one person that was there told me around 11am that he had been chosen to meet the RD - later I met the other two candidates that were interviewing for the same spot. They had just come in from the airport! Bullshit. I will never interview for PDI again!

Thanks for the reply. I just feel like i wasted alot of time. Was given great feedback by PDI. Know my faults. BUt invested, i think, a lot in the process. Went throught the same dance with Inventiv in Dec 2011, but killed it, met the RD immediately, and was offerd the job 2 hours later. Of course, this was for Byetta once/week. And we all see how that is working out.

Interesting

Was anyone from PDI hired? Any former PDI reps officially "hired" on the VIVUS.?
