Should I apply?
I am tossing around the idea of applying for the Surgical Sales Manager position in PA. Is it worth it? My background is in teaching (former high school teacher) and pharma sales. I love my current job, but the money is just not there. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Re: Should I apply?
From what I am hearing is there will be more cut backs. If you want to work long hours for less pay than what they previously paid out for AE position, then go for it. The company is in the midst of one of the biggest change overs ever and the turmoil and chaos is not over. If you go for it, be prepared for a bumpy ride. KCI will not survive much longer unless they have some innovative products in R&D that is truly innovative. Different size pumps will not work any longer. The cycle of VAC is over and you can find one in any company that deals with wound care. Good luck!

Re: Should I apply?
Only 42% of the KCI employees surveyed would recommend the company to one of their friends, most of my co-workers are looking else where at these days. Its hard to say what is going to happen, it just doesn't feel so good anymore and it's hard to say what is going to happen next. Leadership is very untrustworthy, they say one thing then do another, most of us are left in the dark.

Honestly, if you are happy, and have decent benefits, just stay where you are and don't get involved in this cluster of a black hole. You'll have target quotas that will reach into the stratosphere.

Re: Should I apply?
Absolutely apply and go thru the interview process....if nothing else, you get some experience with interviewing. I was one of the laid off reps back in July. Fortunately, I have secured a new position in medical sales. I receive calls from my former KCI coworkers/friends requesting assistance with the territory I once covered. Happy to help them as much as I can because I want them to be successful....but what they keep saying to me is "You are so lucky.....you were laid off and received a severence. The demands/expectations, and territory size is crazy, plus other KCI coworkers have been directed by management to "sabatoge" our business."
I am not with the company any more but what I hear is that things are pretty ugly within the company. I loved my job with KCI, but KCI is no longer the company I once loved working for.
Put in your due diligence researching this company.
Wish you the best!

Yea, I agree with most on here- not sure what the other poster meant by sabotaging, but an interview is always a great thing. Some people never get a call for an interview after applying online so take any interviews you can get! You'll be able to see what the offering will be and then you can compare that to your current situation and see if its a better move for you.

Interview only if you have rocks in your head.

Re: Should I apply?
What are your thoughts about applying for a Smith and Nephew position. They have an opening as well. What do you think about their reps and products? What are the advantages and disadvantages of their negative pressure therapy products? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
