seems like a lukewarm launch, how many rx's is that at $25,000 per script? Answer- 200 scripts for the whole nation, that's an estimated 50 prescriptions for a whole quarter for the whole Northeast part of country...dare we say 10 scripts came out of the state of New York for the quarter----------> wow, that's brutal

"The only surprise was the newly launched psoriatic arthritis drug Otezla, which pulled in $5 million vs. consensus of $12 million."

So how are all of the primary care/contract reps that you hired to launch Otezla looking now?

You have absolutely proven your level of stupidity. I'm...pretty...sure that isn't how you figure out how many scripts have been written. In fact you are nowhere close to the number of scripts written. You're just another blowhard thumping his chest on an anonymous message board who knows nothing.

Do you put "blowhard" in every cafepharma message of yours?

Only where appropriate. And in this case appropriate Mr. Blowhard.

Actually, Mr. Mental Midget.. the number of scripts would be closer to 1000. Not too shabby, and outpacing all of the biologics in comparison to their respective launches, same amount of time of out the gate, with less indications. It is interesting to hear more consistently from my Rheumatologists that the Abbvie reps, etc are panicking as the number of Otezla scripts grow week after week, while the biologic scripts remain flat and/or are declining. That is reality..

Spin it how you want. You're still 58% below your internal financial projections.
I bet your leaders are proud. Meanwhile, gilead just hit over 3 billion in 1 quarter 6 months post launch. Keep thinking you're important.

    "Not to shabby"

    1000 rx / 50 states = 20 rx per state

    100 reps / 50 states = 2 reps per state

    20 rx per state / 2 reps = 10 rx per rep

    10 rx per rep / 3 months = 3.3333 rx per month

Each rep is generating <1 rx per week

No matter how much lipstick you put on the pig the simple fact is analysts expectations or guidance was 12 million, and the launch fell short for the quarter.

Cool, can everyone stop being so angry and self important now?

This is like reading two school kids argue about baseball stats at lunch.

I'll sit and wait for an uber cute response from you.

Yes, however Gilead has offered a cure in an arena where the alternative is increased mortality, extended hospital length of stay, liver transplantation, etc where no other therapeutic options exist. The course of treatment is also 84K, and is purchased in mass quantity via hospital systems, so naturally their sales will be substantial. BTW, the reps themselves do very little as the drug sells itself due to NO competition. So an entirely not an apples to apples comparison. The reality is, Otezla is gaining traction in a arena where the patient t population is small and no sense of urgency by providers exist. Before you try to make a point, please make an attempt to appear less ignorant. Your Gilead comparison truly exposed your ineptitude. .

So you admit that the reason you hired brain dead reps and managers is because you had no expectations that they'd actually need any skills to do this job?

    Actually, you should have written:

"This should be "too" not "to," Mr./Mrs. Grammatical Genius."

Ummmm.. Yes.. 1-3 million dollar orders by many of the larger systems in NYC, Boston and CT.. You should take time to expand your horizons beyond chasing signatures..

If you think 1-3 million is a big sale of sovaldi you are a complete idiot. Sovaldi is a pill and is not an infusion or an in office injection. Hospitals purchase for admitted patients.
