what is with the R&D org. they told us we would be competitive in HCV. Manion sold us a story and now we have a CRL and no inhibitex compound. does anyone know if the guy actually has any drug development experience. he seems like a fast talking used care salesman

It likes watching goofy and dumbo in action. Doesn't senior management see through it? Just keep moving them around and The next person will clean up their mess. Where's the accountability

hey no need to pick on poor Doug. He can't help himself. He just likes to buffalo people and be the center of attention. It's great to watch him in action. The words "tool" and "disingenuous" fit this clown well. Does anyone know how much his poor decisions have cost the company? Well over 2.5 billion and counting.

AGAIN, research is risky business. Just ask every company out there. ask yourself could you do Better?
No? Now that's an honest post.

Manion in R&D. He was a huge champion of the Inhibitex deal. That was the company that cost BMS $2.5 billion. Even after that mistake the guy is still employed.

When Gilead paid $11B for a NUC and we paid $2B for a similar asset, that's not risky research, that is poor due diligence! There's a difference

Why only Manion?! There is also Nath in that deal and there's also Sweeney in Amylin deal and all are still around! Above all the CEO is still there

La Cosa Nostra (Italian mob for you not in the know) runs the show and as such, we are a socialist company now......never, never, never accuse our illustrious leadership of poor management.

Yes the issues start at the top but you have to have Leader's who are accountable. No one seems accountable when balls get dropped or bad decisions are made. Does any know what kabir has ever delivered? China was a mess when he left, and he really didn't leave a legacy from the roles he has left

Kabir is a good guy. He is just trying to fly under the radar like all the others. No sense pointing fingers. We would all do the same and try to protect ourselves if in the same situation.

I agree. Compared to his peers within the U.S. organization he could be considered a role model. They can eat him alive and he knows that. Teresa was brought by Murdo. Ray and Sweeney are very close. He's the only stranger there. He was President of Asia Pacific when Murdo was a senior director. Now look what happened to him! Poor Kabir

I am already sick of this topic. Move on people - it's over and done with and now the company is in the situation it's in with virology. Obviously sitting on the computer whining about what could have, should have, blah blah blah is not doing anything at all. I don't love it either but nothing is going to turn back the clock.

Let's face it there is a deep talent gap. Whether kabirnis effective or not can be debated. The real issue is the guy is not visible and has never really delivered much. Then again neither has murdo.

This division is and has been in the shitter for 10 years now. Many 40 & 50 something's just hanging on hoping to make it to retirement. Sad but it's the reality of this shit can.

Aside from SCC, a miserable excuse for a DM, most are OK. SM is a joke too. MD, BC, JB and AW are all solid though some are a bit inexperienced so let's see how they perform under pressure. BN is more concerned about how many changes of clothes he has each day than the morale of the team but that is how he rolls
