Nope. Not Todd. Knew Todd years ago when I was at Schering. Watched him perform and grow through the ranks. Has he sold vaccines? Ok, no. But so what? Does he understand the business and what's required to drive it? I doubt you'd say no. Do you like him personally? Probably not. And that's what your gripe is really all about, isn't it?

 

Funny how people can take shots at someone they've probably never met. No clue how he operates in his decision making. He uses information to drive his decision. Lots of it.

 

Give it up - he sucks and Zostavax sales continue to decline under his leadership. He wasn't well liked at Schering Plough either. Full of himself but empty of vaccine knowledge. You are probably a suck up S3 trying to stab your way up.

 

Todd can stay. Let's get rid of the ridiculous S3 positions. It's an excuse for former top talent reps, who have tired of the day-to-day hamster wheel, to not work 5 days a week in the field. Using any excuse not to see customers because they're busy at work on so-called projects. Increase their production and you'll have part of the problem solved. I don't think senior leadership realizes how much time they claim to be spending on S3 activities instead of calling on customers.

 

I respectfully disagree with you about keeping Todd because he hasn't shown strong leadership in dealing with the promotion of Zostavax. We have been doing just about everything to sell this product but customers and patients are not accepting it because of cost and reimbursement concerns. Sales reps can't fix that but leadership can do something about it.

As far as your take on S3's. You are definitely spot on!

 

Todd, please shake up the DCO's. It's time for some change - anything is better than what these clowns are doing. It can't get any worse.

 

Heard we will know who got the VKCL positions by end of next week. Should be interesting.

So your wish came true. Now we all see if he was truly the man responsible. Or the ire all of these years was sent in the direction of a man basically doing what he was told. Like all of us. An educated guess would be blame will be directed somewhere else now. Have to keep these threads alive.

 

Good riddance!!! He sucked at his job and he knew it. Now he go screw up that Biotech company next. I'm sure Merck will bring in yet another leader with no background in vaccines either. Leadership never learns from its numerous mistakes.
