Next four years will test the success of these people interacting with physicians to generate sales. If successful, and customers are accustomed to the new process, how does that change the sales rep role? The four year timframe, although arbitrary, does coincide with the change to he Pfizer saving and retirment plans.
Who's the moron? Why do you think Pfizer pays these Medical people? Although they are legally segregated from commercial colleagues and don't promote product, their work ultimately drives revenue. If you think they are paid just to be "on staff" you are sadly mistaken.
Physicians cannot wait for RN's to come in and waste 20-30 minutes of their time regurgitating a slide deck detail piece, with no ability to take or answer questions unless on indication. Sounds no different than a pharma rep. And we know how much a physician respects the RN designation. Some idiot making decisions has a colorful imagination. Another attempt at wasting money and diminishing access, and a model to determine the viability of ending the traditional sales model is what this exercise is all about. Don't fool yourselves into thinking something different.
