What kind of bonus structure does Activis have? Quarterly? How much at cap?

Since Watson "leaders" are still involved in the command structure, the "bonus" would be to not be placed on the Performance Improvement Plan. The rest of the victims can look forward to updating their resume's to look for their next job.

Any current Brand Watson rep that can give any insight on the bonus structure with Activis/Watson?

As an ex-employee in the sales department, you will have no say as to what the sales bonus is. Prepare to be screwed and abused, no matter what your manager says. With Watson, prepare for the worst and you will not be wrong.

Most companies understandably have a provision that allows them to make adjustments to the plan "after the fact" in case the parameters were too easy or alternatively too unrealistically difficult. Watson makes a practice of adjusting their plan results, after the fact, to pay the top performers less than competitors and everyone else is considered for addition to the Performance Improvement Plan before their 18 month invitations to leave the organization.

The goal is for reps at quota to make 20K bonus per year. Although I do not know of many reps that has ever got the full 20K...maybe their were a couple in the company.

Quota's change every quarter - so if you blow out one quarter and make 5-8K then the next quarter your quotas will be so high that you will not make it....so at the end of the year if you are a top performer you will be lucky to get 20K.

Also territories that do the best....in the companies eyes get the lowest quota increases and have the best formulary coverage for the meds. Territories who are consistently shown to underperform have weak coverage and typically have lower market share so they also get the highest increases in quota's as a percentage. Even if you did not make the plan the prior quarter if you market share is lower...they will still give you a higher quota increase. A system that sets you up to fail. The system is totally screwed. I have never worked for a company where bonus structures were so tweaked based on how much do we like this person. So at the end of the day....be thankful for the job and don't plan on getting much bonus. Work hard, do your best and as long as you get a paycheck keep doing it.

There is no incentive to work hard if bonuses are that bad..

The Brand division, like it's leaders, like it's business model, like it's incentive plan, is not business oriented. It is not designed to succeed but to fail. If the generic division did not allow Brand to act as a write off, it would be out of "business." Sales reps have 18 months and then they are gone. The only reason there is a "bonus plan" is because legitimate pharmaceutical companies have one, so this company has to act like one exists. Enjoy the ride for how shortly it lasts, and remember that you are expendable. Only the phony leaders remain. And for what?

Employees and perspective employees: This is the "BUSINESS PLAN" of management for the last 10 years or more! Brand is a word that Watson management cannot comprehend. The poster tells the story truly, read it and run.

Don't you believe it! The first thing WC will do is look at what Watson has done to be so profitable in the past. Screw reps with bad bonus plan?, SURE!! Probably there are no reps that remember the ruining of the industry plan that said "If we put two reps in a territory and double the calls we will make more money!" Well, I am here to tell you that the management with so much imagination and business sense went to 3 then 4 then 5 then 6 or more reps in each territory. Make more money? Yes, for the short term, then with each company plastering so many reps in each territory, a funny thing happened. Doctors said why do I have to give time to reps telling the same story about the same drug? You would try to see docs and be refused, or had to bring in lunch so the fat office staff that never wrote an RX could belly up to the trough every day. Remember how the receptionist or office manager would "pick" the place the food would come from? Anyone have to provide $300 worth of sushi to a one doctor office?
The industry has been ruined by management that as reps were marginal but as the saying goes, "if you can't sell, manage". Will WC keep the 18 month policy that has been so effective? for Watson? The successes of Watson were effectively killed by a women over ten years ago; first ruining the Women's Health O.C. market when it had the lions share, then initiating Women's health to the new world with Papsure, a stupid redo of a product that had been tried to sell by other companies for over ten years and failed. Well, the Watson management team, newbys and the retreads that left for greener pastures but failed and came back with their buddies to suck up a big paycheck for being a buddy, and we all know who they are, don't we?; really know how to lead. The blind leading the blind is an old saw that surely fits, will WC follow the program or are they smarter than that? The world wonders.

Umm..What Watson has done to be so successful??? Ha! Thats laughable. Their branded presence is a joke and in no way shape or form profitable. The only thing keeping them afloat is there huge presence in the world wide generic market. Which, being a WC'er is an awesome thing to come into. A company that does not have to rely solely on the profit of their new or old branded drugs and worry sooo much about generic competition, because, well, we are the generic competition. WC has a track record of taking ok branded products and making them very profitable. That is what Watson is looking to do, that is why they bought us. Point. Blank. Our OC's are the best and they want those along with the rest of the Womens Health portfolio. No one will be able to touch the combined company in Womens Health, and everyone, including Teva and Bayer knows it.
