Can someone in the know give me the good, bad, ugly for the Digital Tech Specialist position with Henry Schein Dental? Apparently, it's considered capital sales so longer sales cycle and probably on the expensive side and probably no residual earnings after selling a system, right? Training salary for three months then straight commission?

My understanding is this is a newly created position (merging two jobs into one). You will be selling capital equipment/software and will support the field sales consultants in addition to generating your own business. You will get a base salary of about $50K DOE and should make about $70-80K your first year; the company does a lot of marketing and generates leads for you in addition to your own efforts. After a while, the position becomes 100% commission. You will also have to be close to a regional center and hold office hours there; you will train sales reps and customers.

    It's not a base salary, it's a recoverable draw.

What is the training like for this position? It seems you would have to have a pretty in depth knowledge of their higher end products, right? What is the "down the road" potential, and are there any other perks, like car, expense account, etc?

    Thanks

    E4D

Can anyone at Schein comment on the progress of E4D sales? Schein thought they were going to reinvent CAD/CAM dentistry with this product. Now you don't seem to hear much about it. Any direct experience with it would be appreciated.
