I can understand the animosity you must feel being bought. However, do you really think it is us, the reps reading Cafe Pharma that made the decision? You lost your credibility, though when you said we sell crappy drugs. Lipitor? Celebrex? Viagra? Zyrtec? Zoloft? Norvasc? Accupril? Which of the above class-leaders is crappy? As an ex-Wyeth employee who suffered under Pfizer, but hit the lottery due to documentation of illegal activity by Pfizer management which resulted in my departure because I refused to participate, I suggest you record every moment you are within earshot of Pfizer management. You can buy a digital recrder that records 16 hrs for under $50. If you are retained, record every moment of sales meetings and dinners. These people are dirtier than you fear. The worst people I have ever been around.
Wyeth legacy here. Yes there are many assholes here, but I've met some awesome people too. As for any "illegal activity", I have never witnessed any from corporate. They are so anal about compliance it's literally out of control. As for some local management being a little sleazy or slackards about compliance, yes I've seen some minor transgressions. However it is impossible to sell anything if you follow all compliance and selling messages corporate requires. Do I miss Wyeth, yes. Do I love Pfizer, hell no. But, in no way possible is Pfizer even remotely close to being like the OP's psychotic rant. You can hate the executive board and the BOD for buying out companies and laying off people, but that's what happens everywhere now. Our economy is so fucked due to so much corruption from the top down and side to side, there are very few ways to survive or succeed today without devouring others' success. Every generation has its hell and back. We're just going through our hell now.

You think that THIS is hell? Reps these days are soft. Go ask your competitors cut from Schering or GSK or Novartis or even your ex Pfizer friends how that job market is working for them. I know many that are selling nutraceuticals or shilling weight loss and de-tox nutritional schemes on the side while working for InVentiv or Publicis as contract pod-people. They don't have this on their linkedIn profile, of course. Unless you're married to someone with wealthy parents, you'll never have it better than you have it now. 3 in a car, DM ride-alongs, "stressful" role plays during POAs are NOTHING compared to dealing with some publicly schooled schnook with a Rudy Guiliani comb-over screaming at you in front of your office mates because you didn't make your sales numbers for the quarter. Or working a big ticket item sale for 8 months only to have the potential client disappear, and have the contract go up in smoke….which leads to Mr Comb-over reaming you out again, and canning your ass!
