It has been decided that even with preferred status Januvia market share continues to decline. In a net sales mindset the managed care team is being instructed to stop paying rebates for many plans. Will start to see access move to third tier on many plans come Jan 1, 2015. I don't agree with this move. I think it is short sighted. But it is happening.
It's normal practice when a product has matured and near its cycle. Shift the money onto newer and more promising products. Why give rebates to a product losing market share?
