When your sales suck for years and you have no new ideas other than your old worn out ones then yes you are going to quote "resign"

SoCal is supposed to fall to the Direct Model by the end of 2013. What the hell is going on here?

In the absence of sales, they need dollars to keep this Ponzi scheme called the ZMH stock price alive. Getting rid of distributors provides a nice pile of money for just that purpose.....for now.

Distributors are overrated. They were important in the 60's thru 80's. Business model has changed and Zimmer is smart by going direct.

So what are we saying, that one person was responsible for sales being in the tank?

Everyone relied on the millionaire distributor for years so, yes, the buck stops with him. Simple.

Ohio is direct now. Brought in a shoulder distributor from Tornier who apparently lost all the top surgeons in Ohio. 2 Zimmer reps have already left, because of this guy. Supposedly will be a distributor in a year or two according to one of the reps he brought over. He's had numerous lines over the years and can't sell unless his surgeons are KOL's. Check him out, he brings zero to the table. What is Kukelo thinking?

Who would you have hired for this role?

  16. For starters, how about someone who works for Zimmer? It never ceases to amaze me that, with a talent so deep and top-shelf, we continue to go outside the company (from c-suite on down) for leadership positions. It demoralizes the troops and encourages short-term decision making as 'those' people have no long-term investment in this company.

Sell them a bill of goods and promise a boatload of business and you get a distributorship ( or gm position for a year or two)]

Look at Georgia, Texas, and S Fla.!

How did those moves go Jeffy Mc?? 1 year done 1.5 years done ( hire back old d) and 1 year done

Zimmer Management has turned into a joke, believed in Joe at one time but........ morale is low, direct markets are not happy reps, hire competitors and former reps at higher salaries who do not produce see the smoke wait for the crash>>>>

pss not only Z making these moves look at tornier, smith and nephew, mako

It appears to me that Zimmer Executive Mgt. does not believe they have a deep talent pool and top shelf people or they would be promoting from within, both internally and externally aka the sales force. Since 2006 and the threat of the DOJ, ZMH has gone almost exclusively to the outside to fill mgt positions. Therefore an entirely new culture, that according to most posters, stinks.

However, the Board of Directors, shareholders and doctors who implant ZMH devices are happy or changes would be made.
