    He's rolling lots of bullshit projects to keep corporate happy but they don't amount to anything. It's just a joke!

    Agreed, nothing with NPV that justifies continued employment of R&D Head, his bad hire direct reports, and majority of Pharma R&D, NJ group and Basel group can handle existing projects that don't need to be scraped, sorry, it just isn't good news or good times. Chronic mismanagement comes home to roost.

    Because the people he's backed or placed in roles within R&D are a bunch of idiots and waste hundreds of thousands of dollars in resources let alone the FTEs. Oh my god we'd have almost a million in savings alone if we fired some of the moronic individual leaders within PPTD. Add those peoples salaries and benefits and you are looking at upwards of 3-4 M in cost savings. This place is terrible and promotes doing mediocre work. Beyond number 1 my ass!

    It will be fun to watch Soye resurface at some other company - AMO? Maybe JNJ will decide to enter IOl business and scoop up ex-Alcon staff. The will be more than glad to help burry NVS. Go JNJ and AMO - now is the time to take a large slice of the IOL pie

    The J+J re entering IOL space talk has been persisting for about 4 years, if they did it would be via acquisition - maybe of B&L (though they have stuff all of their own tech) or one of the smaller US or European companies
    AMO are having trouble keeping production of IOLs up to satisfy the increase in demand globally, and have an interesting IOL pipeline

    The only way alcon maintain/ defend a dropping IOL share is by placing equipment with obligations to use the IOL

    Time is up for Sabrina she goes in next reorg, not picked for anyone's team, just like the play ground, she doesn't get to play anymore.

    Sabrina with her extensive expense account screws field sales, less money for the sales comp plan, and when you throw in her stock and bonus that has been paid FOR NO NEW PRODUCTS JUST ME TOO CRAP AND LINE EXTENSIONS! Yes, she impacts files sales plenty boys and girls.

    Heard the best R&D story this week, the tool in charge of regulatory Art C. asked for 30+ new headcount in regulatory! That Peter R. guy and Art C. totally messed up regulatory and now the only way they can fix it is to add 30 more head count! Why are they still drawing a paycheck? Why is Sabrina not held accountable for his organizational failures? New-productless money pit! Can't wait to go fully to franchise model and get rid of that whole level of non-performing R&D pseudo-leaders. It is high time the leaders on the business get to pick who sits in the chairs of their R&D slots, time for business leaders to support performers and get rid of the politicians. 30+ more headcount? A clear testament to those two individuals failure to manage and lead.

    This guys is paid 3M a year, flown 1st class around the World to all the conferences and meetings, talking to all KOLs - and after 5 years he is still as clueless as he was - no pipeline, no vision, no strategy. All his energy goes into grabbing more power. Then he goes to his reports and demands vision and strategy from reports. This is crazy.
