Earthshattering!! You mean a hospital rep is supposed to work a formulary project when they have a new product they want to get on a formulary?? Worked hospitals for 7 years and called on doctors, nurses, pharmacists, pharm admin/directors, department heads, etc. Whoever I needed to in order to move the project forward. That was 10 years ago.

Ms. French was doing her job. Imagine the heat that the "administrator" is going to get if our products end up on formulary?

Ya just can't make this stuff up. How was this article allowed to happen?

The big take away from the article (other that the astounding fact that some reps were cheerleaders) is that companies 'get it'..no access, mega practice/hospital groups and oh yeah they need only 1 rep with fancy title to work it..nobody in HQ wants to get excited about field sales and its diminishing role in pharma.

If they cut fill time field force (like ZS Consulting is reportedly suggesting), there will not be much need for some exec. level folks. And there is NO way that we are going to lose any head count of the inner sanctum.

She looks very familiar. Wasn't she the rep that was up on stage during the Breo or Anoro meeting? It looks like someone is trying to give her a lot of exposure. I wonder who?

plenty of folks in the inner sanctum know their jobs depend on huge sales forces and the multi-levels of mgt. needed for it..this explains why it has taken 15 years for this common fact that we have waaayyyy too many rep to work its way slowly up to the Execs. who's bonus and pay depends more on stock price and returns...those guys have been feed happy horse sh*t news for a long time about how field sales operates, now that story line is starting to break.

Cannot believe our PR Dept approved of that article. Sad days for once a great company.

You seem to have an obsession with "PR". Can you explain why that is?

Very simple really. The company's reputation, went in the toilet with the behavior it has pleaded guilty to in federal court in Boston. More and more information on this site has caused tremendous problems for the company, so they have hired a Public Relations consulting firm to deflect all the bad press, and negative comments on this board. You by defending this band of criminals and insulting anyone that has anything negative to say seem to be working for the PR (public relations) firm hired to do damage control. Funny enough however, you are such a dim bulb you are not doing a very good job. You must be embarrassed, but show no remorse for killing children by selling drugs off label, so By definition you are a sociopath. Hope you finally understand. Not an obsession, just stating what is obvious to all.

There is no PR firm. Just people that call you out for your stupid comments. Yes, it is an obsession since that is the label you put on someone that does the same thing over and over again.

How could you possibly know that there is no PR firm? Unless you are inhouse and are responsible for their activities. and lying

There was never any discussion about a PR firm. There is a poster that keeps claiming (which might be you) that there is some kind of PR firm, PR person, PR boy, HR person, etc on this board. It is his (your) common response to any comment that does not agree with his (your) opinion. It is silly to even thing that a company would hire a PR firm for this board as everyone knows that this is a board that is basically reps venting and making stuff up and that the credibility of anything on this board is greatly lacking.

Yes, a number of us have been called the PR name by that guy. Is anyone really stupid enough to believe that line?

I'm not the PR guy but I am going to jump in here. It's all about the PR particularly for GSK. Our R&D department has been touting break through medicines and vaccines for years…only to see multi year delays or products that just don't make it. GSK has bought companies for billions of dollars ever touting how it fit our future goals and would be a great "bolt on acquisition" - think Steifel. The PR boys exist to keep us high in the eyes of investors who want to see a return on their investments.

Only problem now is few are believing the PR and the company is performing so miserably no PR firm can take our rotten lemons and turn them into lemonade any longer.

The current WSJ article was a way to do more the same while making DC look like she is some masterful woman leader of the 21st century. She makes probably close to a $ million or more a year and totally has the place in shambles. Who cares if she negotiated some great deal with the US federal government the dire straits we find ourselves is because of her and those she brought into GSK.

That is typical investor relations, just like any other company. The PR crap is some silly notion by the board moron that some PR company patrols the board to bash his idiotic comments, which is ludicrous.
