Medtronic has an energy division? Smells like a Medtronic troll looking for information-notice the MDT stock ticker reference. I looked at annual report and there is a small $ division, but nowhere the size of us here in Boulder. We will let you know our next steps so just sit tight wherever you are.
The MDT energy portfolio is pretty limited. Can't imagine they won't just fold it into the AST organization.
That said, they have a relatively large salesforce, 200+ reps, for that limited portfolio. There will be displacement if the merge both portfolios.
who knows what these guys will dream up. I'm guessing not much changing...its two massive companies, will take years to figure shit out. Cov can't figure out what reps are going to sell freaking trocars and cautery pencils. It will be interesting none the less to see how they execute their plan....watching the senior leadership suck up and kiss a$& more than usual will have a certain entertainment value to it.
From an outside perspective things are up in the air. Upon further inspection there is confusion in the the rank and file. Perhaps it's intentional because management is going to be shuffled after the merger is complete. Advertising seems to be consistent the question is what will happen to that portion after the merger?
It certainly sounds as if big changes are coming to Boulder and that things are bound to go under the magnifying glass fast heh?
Now under MDT the former COV Energy (fka Valleylab) group automatically gets "name brand recognition" again. IIRC that is something they lost back in 1998. Things certainly are looking vertically north in Boulder nowadays.
I would imagine that 'expedited re-branding' is certainly in the works for this division. Going to be a beautiful thing with the new MDT logo and layout on all those generators, pencils, pads, etc.
