Laurie Little is announcing a new agreement made between Valeant CEO Michael Pearson and Vermont Teddy Bear Factory CEO William Shouldice. The privately held Vermont Teddy Bear Factory is also the owner of PajamaGram, maker of the famous original Hoodie-Footie TM pajama.

Dr. Tage Ramakrishna, head of Valeant Research, Development and Quality has obtained FDA approval for a novel microbead formulation of Jublia, Valeant's nail fungus blockbuster, permitting Jublia to be directly embedded within the toes of the Hoodie-Footie TM pajamas, similar to the way clothing can be impregnated with the mosquito repellant DEET or with fire retardant polymers. Only the toes of the Marshmallow Microfleece will be treated with the Jublia product, and the pajamas will be available in a full range of sizes for newborns on up to Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, and even for the family pets.

"This is an exciting line extension for our newest blockbuster, Jublia," said Pearson. "Consumers will benefit from the synergy found betwwen the marriage of the stylish Hoodie-Footie pajama and the 10% effective Jublia treatment for their toe nail fungus concerns; At the same time, we create tremendous value for our shareholders."

"I am a great fan of PajamaGram's direct-to-consumer model," Pearson continued, "which will help us create additional synergies through bypassing our expensive and emotionally needy Valeant sales reps, to directly deliver exceptional value to Valeant shareholders."

Valeant CFO Howard Schiller is predicting peak worldwide sales of $16-billion for the exclusive "Fighting Fungus" line of Hoodie-Footies TM by the end of 2015.

Dr. Ramakrishna is devoting half of the entire $100,000 Valeant R&D budget for 2015 toward development of an Elidel microbead formulation to be embedded in the hoodie for a future product line, as well as, in conjunction with future hostile takeover target Zoetis, a microbead tick and flea formula to be embedded in the pet pajamas.

RBC Capital is providing funding for Valeant's efforts, an additional $5-billion in loans, with the debt to be financed at 8.65%, to complete the deal.
