LEXINGTON SHIT DOWN

PG just spoke on behalf of now hundreds of good, hard working employees who have been escorted out the buildings in the last 18 months because of gross incompetance at all levels of management.

I suspect Alan W. and Ian F. looked around at the organization when they were hired and must have thought, "holly shit, what a shameless band amateurs!" They must have tried to inject some sensible business practices into the organization but met too much resistance from the hair gel and bike riding ilk that ran the place. Like any large company the guys at the top spent too much money giving themselves quarterly bonuses and nice furniture and not enough money on training for the folks that actually did the sales, processing, and servicing of patients (remember when Peter Kelly's muppet of a brother was in charge of sales training?).

Anyway, I have been gone for awhile now and although I miss some of the coworkers I enjoyed getting to know over the five years I was there I do not miss the stalinist like politics as evidenced by the recent closure of the Lexington CCC. It pains me to think of the money PPSC poured into that operation over the years; must have been over ten million wasted, but in the grand scheme of things who really cares? It was money that belonged to Japanese share holders in the first place and it was never going to work its way to higher salaries for anyone but top management.

Looking back it really was odd place to work; one day you go to lunch and come back to learn that half your department was laid off, nobody tells you why, and you are never allowed to ask what happened. You just keep your head down until it is your turn to be escorted out and watch as those who rode bikes with Kane would be promoted into management positions they didn't understand.

PG, though you could have been a little more tactful in your very public criticism of the Lawyers that are now in charge of that sinking carrier of a company, I am glad that someone has had "The Pair" to speak to those who are confused and need some insight into the inner workings of those with the corner offices, and what seems like an unrealistic strategy of trying to keep their jobs by cutting every expense possible regardless of the consequences.

At the end of the day this closure will do little more than delay the inevitable liquadation of PPS. It won't happen today as there are still too many patients to sell off, and it may not happen within the next year, but eventually the 1500 employees who once worked there will be reduced to an army of attorneys dealing with the lawsuits & liens that will result from the actions of management over the five years.

Kane you should have started your job on April 1st not on April 2nd like you insisted.

You are simply wrong. 1 person did have this influence. Sorry you fail to recognize that but it is 100% the truth. She had help, but she is the mastermind behind this shutdown, everything going back to the field, and why so many people have left. It might be a blessing if it works and she should get full credit if in fact it works. It won't. You simply don't know what your talking about if you fail to believe this fact.

And you simply don't have a clue how PPS works. Some of you people come intio the business, spend 2 years sitting behind a computer and are experts on the DME business. Unless you have spent at least 8 years working at PPS, you are just spewing uneducated, uninformed information.

What is the average time an employee spends at PPS? I think two years is probably about right especially for the field, just like the NFL.

How does 10+ years sound to you? I typed this big long response back to you and decided to just delete it. Choose to believe what you want. I have stated nothing but the facts trying to educate you and everyone else on those. You chose to not believe and continue to bait me. I give, you win. Good luck and good riddance.

THE POINT I AM MAKING IS THIS Some people have worked from the bottom up. They have been overlooked for promotion by yes men! They also told Alan and Ian, their ideas WOULD NOT WORK!!!!! These people were belittled, and harassed out of the business for their beliefs. The call center was a disaster from day 1. You cannot blame this entire failure on 1 person!! That is ignorant. I am probably considered one of the "whistle blowers" but I told different VP'S about the issues. (JK turned his head)
The problem with PPS is they still have the "problem" mangers employed. That means the issues will continue. If the same mangers teach the same thing, won't that mean the same issues???? HELLO.....PPS Are you that blind? The race card again? Until Jason Knight and Alex are gone, you will continue to have the SAME issues. " If you always do what you have always done, you are going to get what you have always gotten." The people that know me, will know me from that phrase.

Very funny... DD is that you? To clarify the post before yours, Kane was not a sales rep, but he did help run the Marin center for a while so maybe that's where someone might think he was a PCC. He was hired as MM's Director of Marketing in 2002, and sat in a tiny cube near me. He quickly rose up the food chain and became PPS's VP of Government Relations and then COO before being named CEO. Nice guy, great hair, good family man, great sense of humor, and probably an excellent biking companion. Just wanted to clear that up. To my knowledge, he was not a city planner either. Funny where people get this stuff.

I know JA was deputy mayor, not sure who was apparently city planner. I like CK, wish it would have worked out differently for the company under his watch.

So, does anyone know how long the rest of the Lexington crew has? There is a lot of empty office space right now.

If you are at PPS still and you want unemployment with a shitty bonus pay then hold out there but if you need a job and cant afford to not have a steady income then look for other work. Be smart and go ahead and treat each day as your last cause you know its coming. PPS just let go the life raft that was holding this place together. In Tejin words they NEED TO REMOVE THE INTERNAL BARRIERS. What do you think that means?? you have two options. dont be surprised when you are pulled into the training room again for a quick meeting.

Who is on the receiving end of that? The GMs or the folks in the CCC? Glad to hear you're so happy.

PPS is now advertising for customer service representatives as field CCRs. Is Lexington all the way shut down now?

Nah, just job search lingo. Just like there are no "outside sales reps" at PPS, since they are called PCCs
