    Let's try a word problem;

    Big Bertha is 100 pounds overweight. She begins treatment with Contrave in January. If Big Bertha loses 4%, how many pounds of excess weight will she lose by December? If you answered 4 whole pounds, you get a big gold star!

    Let's try another one;

    Large Larry weighs 400 pounds. His doctor tells him he must lose weight. Large Larry begins taking Contrave in April. Based on the clinical data, how many pounds of total body weight will Large Larry shed over the course of 12 months if he loses 4%? That's right; Larry will lose a whopping 16 pounds bringing him to a nice healthy 386! Everybody wins!

    OK. One more:

    Little Tommy Takeda has a new weight loss product to launch. It's called Contrave and it's a fixed dose combination of two old generic compounds. Based on dismal clinical efficacy, astronomical cost and zero managed care coverage, how many prescriptions can Tommy Takeda expect to sell during the first year of launch? Are you ready? Zero. Tommy Takeda will sell zero prescriptions of Contrave during the first year of launch.

    Looking damn good Takeda!

    You don't work for Takeda- NOVO TROLL!! Sad that you left Takeda aren't you!
    AND...

    You are an IDIOT! No wonder you can't sell anything! Read the indications- bmi of 30 or greater or bmi of 27 or greater with a co morbidity (diabetes, hypertension, or elevated cholesterol). The weight Loss is overall body weight not just how much added weight they have MORON!! It then says the FDA SAID PEOPLE TAKING CONTRAVE SHOULD BE EVALUATED AT 12 weeks ( 3months not a year because you obviously don't know how many weeks in a year) and if they have failed to lose at least 5% of their body weight... So for a 280 lb person the calculation would be 14 lbs in 3 months! That is damn good weight loss for 3 months!

    Why did Contrave not meet the efficacy criteria in more instances than Brlviq. And, Qsymia met EVERY efficacy criteria in EVERY study. More than 2x the efficacy and much safer. There is absolutely NO clinical benefit to this drug. The only advantage is a bigger sales force(that worked great for edarbi). Safer-No. More tolerable-No, more effective-no, once a day-No, bigger sales force-yes

    Ditto-remember, if you don't give All the ACCURATE data, we will and what little credibility you have left will be lost. If safety, tolerability or efficacy is exaggerated, you will be revealed and you will look foolish and deceptive. Not good.

    What are you talking about?!

    Read the data before you talk…

    The fact that you stated Qsymia is "much safer" is laughable..

    Go back to Belviq message board and polish up your resume, because Arena Pharmaceuticals is down 31% year-to-date and hemorrhaging money… I get that you are not happy about these developments, but you just have to accept event he early projections believe Contrave will dominate the market by 2016…

    Just admit Belviq and Qsymia are toast and move on with your life.. You will be much happier inside!

    I have to agree, and also say the fact that Belviq and Qysmia are both controlled substances while Contrave is not will really help Contrave take hold..

    Belviq can't sample and neither can Qysmia, Contrave can and will…

    That alone will make Contrave a star in the marketplace

    Have u read the data yet? C barely met any efficacy criteria the FDA set. In every study Contrave had a stat. Sig increase in BP and HR vs placebo. The bag plac adjusted wt loss was 4.2 % body weight. More than 2x adverse events related discontinuation s. many more patient types at risk of using than either competitor. 2patients had seizures vs 0 placebo. Many drug interactions with very commonly rxed meds. Bid dosing with less than half the efficacy vs Q. Terrible diabetic data, increase in BP, not good for diabetics. Wait until you compare the data. You won't be excited once u realize all the obstacles. Remember, u had edarbi samples, how did that work. Both competitors give 2 weeks free also. Your samples will either be taken home by the staff who will all tell the dr they vomited or, the patients will complain it makes them nauseous and the only weight they lost was fr all the vomiting. Drs hate naltrexone. Why do u think PCPs never rx it?

    Don't forget a Box warning and all the drug interactions....doctors won't know what patient they can even try to give this drug to without some warning or contraindication..good luck! They may try your samples but never fill the script or refill because of lack of efficacy.

    Hey genius. My examples (word problems) all include percentage of extra weight (Big Bertha 100 pounds overweight) AND total body weight (Large Larry 400 lbs total). Tell you what though. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Let's just multiply both of these numbers by 4. Assuming Larry loses 4% of his total body weight each quarter, he will lose a total of 64 pounds bringing him in at a very slim 336 lbs. Bertha would lose a whopping 16 of the total 100 lbs she needs to shed. Amazing results huh?

    Any obese person willing to walk 20 minutes a day and cut their calorie intake by a couple hundred calories (a slice or two of bread for instance) can lose much more weight in a shorter period of time.

    This product sucks, will cost patients and insurance companies a ton of money, have ZERO coverage and no prescriptions. Takeda is running out of money. Japan is ready to cut the cord on TPUSA. Contrave is a shot in the dark that will never hit the target.

    OREX stock is down 8.31% and Takeda is down .71% this morning the day after an approval from the FDA. Only Takeda could see their stock price and that of their business partner DROP after an FDA approval. Takeda will fuck this up. Promise.

    Ask the team that launched Rozerem how that worked out for them. How are sales for that product these days anyway?

    God are you stupid....
