And yet you keep coming back to this thread. Why?

Couldn't agree more with the OP. The question about why the OP keeps coming back can only be explained by the fact that they are hoping for something interesting to happen, i.e. layoffs.

Wait till the AZ, Pfizer and Sanofi bidding war starts for Mannkind this summer when the first new insulin in 15 years goes on the market. I wouldn't have thought much about this, but every pulmonologist I speak with is excited and I didn't expect that.

Mannkind has an inhaled insulin formulation. It'll be different this time?

Pulmonologists are watching this because so many patients have diabetes and they know systemic delivery via the lungs makes sens

Inhaled insulin didn't work the last time due to lung side effects. This time is different?

No, your not correct, youtube dr. skylar and mannkind, he was the main clinical director of the pfizer inhaled insulin studies and goes through the real problems with Pfizer's Exubera, it required a specialist visit for a lung test prior to a GP writing a script for the product to one of their patients. Also, Exubera was the size of a tennis ball can and looked like apenis pump, literally. There was also no clinical advantage as Exubera didn't really work any faster even though it was delivered via the lungs to the arterial blood supply. Oh, and Exubera was three times as expensive as other prandial insulins, including Mannkind's new product. The pfizer sales force in the US basically knew all this and said not interested, although main land European sales were better, but then again Europeans probably though it looked cood to use apenis pump at a restaurant.

AZ thread is boring for a very very good reason. Morale is so bad here nobody cares anymore. I can go on and on why but everyone knows the reasons. The good people have left or retired. Most are actively searching for a new career. Those that aren't have so many years in they are waiting to retire. Of course there are the people who have their head in the sand and think everything is just fine with dear ole AZ.

The vast majority of people I see are just going through the motions. Making believe they actually are motivated. This includes DSM's. Everyone is checking boxes and cashing their paychecks. What a sorry sorry state of affairs this place has turned into.

    Its the entire industry.
Sometimes, I will apply for a job for sh its and giggles, and then they tell me its a 4 step interview process. At that point, I give out a healthy laugh.

Why would anyone endure a 4 step interview process for an industry that offers no stability and slightly above average income?

Guess that is why they love the cheerleaders and jocks and recent college grads.

Well I sure as hell can tell you I'm not bored. Left the house at 10 AM, had lunch with my son at school, went to the mall after, lied about calls, hit the gym at 3. I cannot remember the last time I worked from 9 to 4 PM!! On a field ride, my DM is busting his ass to leave as quickly as possible for some imaginary conference call. We both know that he doesn't have CC to get on. That's cool. I am wondering if anyone works a full day at AZ anymore.

This thread may be boring, but I'm having a blast at AZ!

It's only boring because the good threads with all the truthful facts get pulled. It's called suppressing the truth.

The beginning of the death spiral was when AZ went to the rank and yank process of personnel management and then they sealed the coffin when they put MT in charge and he brought in his brainless henchmen to carry out his reign of terror. They used AZ as their personal playground and abused people for amusement and to settle old scores. Nobody felt safe unless you were one of his pets.

Dude, you really need to give your vendetta against Mike Tilton a rest. He's gone. Let it go, and take in a deep breath.

Did you trade in your jack boots and brown shirt for a business suit when they marched his sorry pathetic ass out the door?

Other problems with inhaled insulin too, like unpredictable dosing and exposure, lung inflammation etc. It might all work out someday, but it will take a lot of time and money to validate it to the FDA level of required reliability. Why do you think Mannkind is trying to sell itself? They sure can't afford it.
