If it's just about a foreign company, why don't they buy Patty's Fish and Chips on Winchester?

A couple points need to be made:

First, Pfizer can't buy Paddy's Fish and Chips, because 20% of the company must be owned by citizens of the UK. That's why Pfizer offering more stock than cash.

Second, Pfizer paid 27% in Federal taxes last year. So far from 19% avg. Granted it was higher than normal due to Zoetis spin off.

Third, Pfizer will continue to pay taxes in the US similar to today. Local, State, and Federal taxes will still be collected as usual. They will be less due to the convoluted tax code in this Country.

Fourth, if the US would just lower the taxes on revenue not earned in the country maybe Corporations wouldn't leave!! Why pay taxes on money not earned in the US. Stupid

Finally, the whole concept of buying other companies vs. doing our own research is laughable. Do you grow all your own food? no, aren't you the same as Pfizer. You cant do it effectively so you go purchase it. Pfizer spends billions each year on R&D that doesn't seem to pay off.

They should pay taxes on income earned outside of the US because they reap the benefits of being a US corporation - our market, government protection, etc. Governments (all over the world) need to stand up for their citizens AGAINST corporations taking advantage of everyday people and destroying the environment in the name of profits. More money for people who already have enough money - how greedy can they be.

Could you list the other major trade countries that tax profits made overseas? I'm serious. If the answer in none or one or two, then I think the previous point made that you responded to is a valid one.
