Told you so! Buy-side Goldman Sachs analyst Jami Rubin speaks out on PFE. Ironically, Goldman Sachs was Astra Zeneca's investment advisor on the Pfizer-AZ bid and played out that card to force strategy pursuit to a 3-way spin-off of Pfizer in 2017. Wall Street, in the form of Goldman Sachs, really runs Pfizer.

NY TIMES DEALBOOK: The Lessons of a Pfizer’s Failed Drug Deal

    http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/05/27/the-lessons-of-a-failed-drug-deal/

*Pfizer’s management looks foolish for failing to clinch a deal with its British rival when the two sides were close on price.

*Ian C. Read, Pfizer’s chairman and chief executive, made a major miscalculation, or was poorly advised, or both.

Pfizer Ends AstraZeneca Deal Over Chinese Food, Sniping

    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/pfizer-ends-astrazeneca-deal-amid-101352772.html

    The negotiations began last November

Each companies disagreement over a press release and the difference between a personal visit and a telephone chat played a big role.

Said Daniel Galvan, a director at investment bank GBS Finanzas in Madrid. "Pfizer could have had softer manners when approaching AstraZeneca.

This disagreement over the press release set the hostile tone that continued in the following weeks, two of the people close to the British drugmaker said.

In the aftermath, the recriminations have begun and questions raised about New York-based Pfizer's tactics. In AstraZeneca's eyes, Pfizer turned a supposedly friendly deal into a hostile one, alienating its board, according to people with knowledge of the matter who asked not to be identified.

"Pfizer's been painted as the bad guy in all this. They've (Pfizer) managed to tick off the U.K. government, the U.S. government and the Swedish government, and that's quite an unusual trick."

Now comes the harder part...PFE proving it can go it alone, and bring its low-yielding R&D pipeline to commercial success...better than PCV13Adult, Eliquis and Xeljanz launches.

Pfizer is a dead a$$ company without another big M&A deal to mythically make earnings through "synergies".

PFE proving it can go it alone?? Ha, we are not the one who made optimistic performance promises to our shareholders to help justify not taking a lucrative offer...hope AZ colleagues are prepared from some very aggressive cost cutting...

Think Again. You have much to learn little grasshopper.

Pfizer Couldn't Get Its Bid Up, Shareholders Should Take Profits

    Pfizer's Failure -
What this reveals about Pfizer's future prospects is telling. The company is eagerly looking for ways to defer its tax costs but is unable to make the whole-hearted effort it would take to actually accomplish this goal.

Whether this is a reflection of weak leadership or a lack of enthusiasm within the ranks is a question that will be answered by future actions.

In the meantime, PFE's stock chart shows a sharp decline.

Investors should take some profits in PFE in the event the company continues to report declining revenues as it has for the past five out of six quarters.

Right...I am sure the AZ board and CEO will enjoy explaining to their largest institutional shareholders why they did not talk to PFE when their stock is going nowhere six months to a year from now with no new products any time soon...but you keep looking for articles that make you feel better princess

I think there are several important points to keep in mind: the PFE rank-and-file did not make a play for AZN; both PFE and AZN colleagues want only to ensure the welfare of their families, which is the root of the passion we're all feeling; and, the UK as well as its people are among our greatest friends and allies. In this world, please don't lose site of that last point. And, please keep in mind all our emotions are fueled by our dedication to our families: not because one company or the other is better. God bless the USA and UK!

All anonymous, bunch of estrogen enduceed Pfizer and Az ass stains. Memorial Day in The US is about the brave ( unlike - you ) Veterans (Real Men & Women) that sacrificed their lives for a cause that was bigger than themselves. You spoiled, non servicing, self serving Pfuck's that think that a Wharton exucated?self serving CEO who only serves his pension & parachute package as a Memorial Day failure is not only despicable, but a strong sign as to why our countries are in the shi_hole. Why don't you show a little respect for the admiral men & women who actually had morals & integrity and payed the ultimate sacrifice for the sime belief of freedom. This goes for both Brits and US. Maybe the reason we see such failures of leadership is because we are led by leaders with a pedigree as opposed to true leadership skills. Don't use the term Memorial Day with anything PFE or AZ related. The lack of leadership at both companies couldn't even pull the boot strings of the heroes we Memorialize durring the US Holiday of Memorial Day. I would love to have a face to face with anyone that has a problem with this concept. This is my name & I would be happy to provide you with contact info if you feel that denegrating Memorial Day in the name of failed corporate leadership warrants using a sacred event to prove your self serving point.

Memorial Day about the brave? Or the conscripted? Either way fools died fighting against socialism and a surveillance state in Russia, Germany and Korea only to get backdoored by Republicrats. Being a mercenary is not brave, it's government propaganda. Ed Snowden is brave.

Sadly, and I mean Sadly, there's too much truth in this statement. I disagree with the "fools" statement because they had an immediate threat from the evil left and monarchist religious right that was actually shooting at us. Today, we are the fools and pussies who aren't taking up arms against today's leftist/progressive takeover.

Hate yourself first before you hate on our fallen brethren who had huge balls and made more sacrifices in a day than any of us have in our entire lives.

I just wished our current military would turn on the real enemies within.
