Do you really need to be rude? Where is your civility or your manners? Too many of us have been downsized, minimized and treated as if we are of zero value. Who are you to judge anyone's worth? I don't care if you actually are a hiring manager - your attitude is abhorrent and your day will come. Bet on it.

Its because you have no value or any type of discernible skill set that is transferrable to any other industry or career other than a pharma rep

You drive around all day and deliver food and drug samples. To people who don't want to talk to you, who work for doctors who hate putting up with your constant badgering, who work for health systems who have long since figured out that you going around pestering people is a drain in productivity, which is why you are banned from even walking in the buildings where most of your customers ARE!!

You have a job that is such a joke that your boss rides around in the car with you to make sure you are actually WORKING!! And you wonder why you are always being downsized and treated like you are worthless?? A Jimmy John's driver and a UPS Driver have the same amount of value as YOU. But at least no one worries about the zit faced kid driving the beat up Dodge Neon who can bring an office a bunch of sandwiches actually working.

I feel sorry for you - your attitude is unfortunate, and you go to lengths to be ugly towards others. If you find yourself out of a job, I'd not only polish up your resume but your attitude as well. You may need therapy or a life coach to help you find your purpose. Best of luck to you.

We will all be polishing up our resumes very soon. That poster was a prick, but some of those points are valid. I really don't feel like I can do much to affect by business sometimes.

This job is still a 2005 model job, and it ain't 2005 anymore. Several of my small 1 doc practices have closed up shop this year. There are very few places I can go

I think we should give all the higher ups at Pfizer Viagra and strip them down naked and dump their greedy asses in shark infested waters! This goes for all the asshole posters on here as well!

You are douche bag that has the skill set of park ranger at a zoo with no animals! Most of the driveling doctors and nurses wouldn't know what product was what if it wasn't for the reminder of what product gets used for. What is more of a drain on productivity is the hospitals who are demanding the doctors see 30 patients in a day and cutting cost everywhere where it is not needed. You basically proved your value, which doesn't sum up too much when you have to come on a board and put people down during layoffs, hiding behind the internet like a pompous asshole. Now go back out to your barnyard and fuck a few more chickens you worthless piece of shit! Tell Jimmy J, we said hi and you will no longer be getting a tip from us! You shit stained panty sniffer!

Plus you are out of touch with reality, most if not all facilities in WI,MN don't allow lunches or drug samples. Next time you get sick or develop some chronic disease and you have nothing to treat it with or some one you know dies because they quit making a life saving product don't come crying, as it will happen. I don't work for Pfizer nor in the Pharma industry, I work at a hospital, and when we did have a shortage of products the above did happen.

Yes, the system is broken. Many Hospitals run out of expensive antibiotics and other things, even though they are still generic they are extremely expensive to produce

No, doctors and nurses do not need to be constantly reminded about what a drug is and what a drug does by a trunk monkey rep who always wants to disrupt the office. Do you honestly think that people need to be reminded about what Celebrex does? it was launched in 1999!

Doctors have to see 30 patients a day to make a practice financially viable, especially with Healthcare Reform taking over. They also have to incur the cost of expensive software upgrades and training in order to assimilate the federal exchanges and new reimbursement methods dumped on them by the ACA.

How does the outdated and antiquated pharma business model translate to today's healthcare marketplace? People who come by and try to talk to docs between even more patients who get even less time with their provider? Not very well I am afraid.

The only thing a busy practice seeing 30 patients a day needs less than a pharma rep is having the rep bring in their dithering District Manager in the office with them to "coach" them on what sound bites they are supposed to rattle off and what "probing questions" they are supposed to badger people with.

Where in the hell have you been? Have you been asleep for the last 20 years, sale forces are much smaller and no doctors are not reminded daily you dip shit! Doctors/Nurses are lucky if they are reminded once a month now. I think you are listening to too many remixes from the 90's on your radio! Don't get me wrong, frankly managers are not even needed, plus the days of "detailing" are long past and any panty waste in management better get over that BS. I work in the ICU and I value the reps that come in, for one they actually pay taxes like the rest of us and have decent paying jobs, why don't we just make this a push a button country and cut every job there is and you won't get jack to pay for medical bills etc.. First we cut the blue collar jobs and put people out of work and now all the greedy fuckers what to cut the white collar jobs, anyone on here bitching about reps can fucking shove it, look much higher up the food chain that is where the problems are. Now take the "Blue" pill and wake up!

You're right about one thing. Managers are definitely not needed anymore. Think of all of the electronic ways to babysit. You could even use the technology they build into tablet computers to track peoples' eye movements and dialogue, ect.

I thought a few years ago we were getting it right, and then we got dismantled and unfocused on really doing what needed to be done. What the hell happened? Why can't people just listen????????????

So true-use technology to get rid of DMs. Come to think of it-lets take it one step further and use it to get rid of the reps. We can market the drugs with all that new tech stuff to reach the doctors directly AND get around access issues, cost of the reps, compliance concerns, etc... Do you see the flaw in your thinking??? Probably not. Think before you speak grasshopper (old school reference-probably before your time).

Q: What is the definition of safe sex down in Wisconsin?
A: Placing signs on the animals that kick.

I agree with you. Managers are not welcome anywhere and yet we have them everywhere. WTF? Mine actually ruins my day and each and every call by expecting a "message" or "probe" and a "close." OMG! We basically sell intangibles but they act like we are closing a real estate deal or car sale. The job has been a joke for a long time. Keeping this SOV old model of message, bridge, close is not good for morale or business.
