Personna roll out is the worst in history of orthopedics. Maybe has something to do why Biomet is going to run Zimmer

I agree the Personna rollout has been disappointing, but the the quality hold/recall issues that have crippled Zimmer the last 2 years on virtually all recon/trauma products is a big deal and has affected sales.

why is there a problem with quality? Didn't they appoint the stay puft marshmallow man to head it up?

When you force a product release and browbeat the teams to launch it as quickly as possible, the end result is chaos and quality holds. The entire personna launch was a bunch of short-time, self-obsessed professional executives who came on board at the eleventh hour and started pounding the table and saying 'faster faster faster' , 'quit making excuses and launch it' and 'why is this place so slow'. Guess what happens when you force a launch - you have quality issues because things get missed. Personna is a great product line that could have been launched better if the teams had been allowed to take the time needed.
Look at the announcement on who will be running ZB. Bye bye k ow-it-all-table-pounders, go mess up another company.

Just heard that there was to be a recall. This is just rumor and there were no details other than some of the hold products are now being moved to recall status. Has anyone else heard this? I didn't want to call corporate because they always give the same response..."I haven't heard this".

Dirty little secret is a Zimmer rep in the US cannot supply an Endo head larger than a 46mm on a hemiarthroplasty hip

There are no Zimmer recalls listed on the FDA website.
    Product shortages are not recalls.

Let me just clear the air, Persona TM tibias have been voluntarily recalled. The complaint rate was significantly higher compared to Monoblock and Nexgen TM mod so Z pulled it so they can figure out wtf is going on.

Hold on great lawyer type. It is my understanding that in order for something to be confidential, it must be controlled on a need to know basis. If are telling this info to everyone in the company, I don't think that can be confidential
