Moved up to ASR? Would you promote a Mexican house keeper to sales? No. Procare is a tard position. Newb, go to school and enter med device through the front door?

I concur with this rep, BUT give it a year, deal with the politics, and OR drama, and work had prove yourself- maybe get on a new trial they are wanting to learn about before offering to customers, stay for one year, and make the best resume ever, and land a better job at a different company

the ProCare job is the McDonald's of medicine. you're on step above instrument room tech. stryker isn't won't promote you from instrument room to sales. they'll have a lot of reasons why you shouldn't be there. maybe you could spin your ednoscopic knowledge to another company but thats about it. fast track to no where..

Not sure if this thread is dead yet but my resume was passed along by a well known Stryker Sales Rep for a procare spec position. Got a call from the regions manager to interview with him, I showed up at the interview it ended up being 3 Stryker managers. Doesn't seem like I've gone through the standard hiring process. Interview went well, they told be where I would be working and asked my salary expectations I live in a very populated area where Stryker holds a lot of territory.

After reading previous post not sure what to expect with the next step in the hiring process. I guess having an inside connection helped a lot.... I'll keep it posted to see what happens next, and I asked what we're the advancement opportunities and they stated at stryker we encourage advancemt as long as your prove yourself. I know it's a low level position and I'll take a pay cut but I'm willing to do so to get my foot in the door and then bust my butt to prove mysel. Any input would be great, thanks.

3 stryker managers? They must have had nothing else to do except gang bang your interview. As for the position, be very careful. They usually try to get hospitals to fund your position by telling the hospital you cost 80,000 and the hospital gets you 24/7. The endo rep bundles you into a large capital deal and gets a fat commission off of your hard work. Stryker pays you 35k and if your endo rep is worth anything, they will pay you a thousand at the end of the year if you have kissed his ring enough. The position is a joke.

Thanks for the heads up but the rep who got the account where I'll be working is the one who passed my resume to the procare manager and is a personal friend. I was kinda surprised when the Regional manager asked me my salary expectations I said 45k which is what my friend told me the starting pay.
They didn't say anything to me after that regarding my salary. I'm assuming like any job it goes by where you live, like I said I live in a large urban area. Where the cost oof living is hire... I guess time will tell, heard nothing today but I'm confident I'll hear from them soon.

I was also shocked that 3 managers showed up for the interview. The feeling I get from my friend is that with stryker it's who you know and who bl*w... performance is always a must in any company.

Here's some facts for you. Your salary is NOT based on your geographic location, as a ProCare Specialist you will be lucky to make 45k whether you're in West Virginia or NYC. Are you young and fresh outta college? PERFECT... After you left the interview those 3 managers fist bumped each other and said 'We got ourselves a cherry boys!'

Think long and hard about your career goals before taking this position. Extremely rare cases that a ProCare specialist will become a rep, let alone an ASR. Look around you bud, Stryker is a physical & competitive organization. Survival of the fittest and a social Darwinism business model. Know yourself and your limitations before you enter the vortex.

I'm 28 and already have my bachelors degree, haven't heard anything as of yet but I know things take time. My wife is an RN and I was thinking about going back to get my RN license. Yes it will be a pay cut, and I have 6 years management experience, to be honest I would rather go the management route with procare.... like I said the Sales rep for the account I would be working in is a good person friend. I feel that I would be a good fit I like the environment where they push you, I was in the USMC reserves for 4 years. I definitely take your advice into account and thank you for your honesty.

No worries. When it comes down to it, you have to make the right financial decision no matter what job you take. It's just a low paying role with little room for advancement and just wanted to provide a heads up. If you're looking to get your RN license than you already have a plan. Good luck to you.
